Reds To Close Airport On 30th

My TGF has just told me that the Reds are planning to take over the airport on the 30th.

Not great news, especially as my KLM flight goes on the 1st. If the roads are shut, then fine, but i don't really want to shell out 7455 baht on an internal flight from Uttapao if unnecessary.

I not asking anyone to post their political views, as the thread will end up being closed, but has anyone else hear the same?

Could your Thai GF ask them to delay it until, say 14th, as I have a flight out on 16th May.

I am happy to stay longer (I managed an extra 5 days when PAD took over Suvarnabhumi).

The last time I went to the airport there were army outposts for several miles on the approach from central Bangkok, I'm not sure if they are still there as it was a while back.

I don't think they will get anywhere near the airport before facing heavy resistance, no matter how hard they try I think they will be stopped dead in their tracks if they attempt this.

I have just returned from the airport and I would say there is ZERO chance of that happening.

There is military all around the airport and unless they just roll over and play dead the airport is not closing!
