TimVeenvliet
Hi there! In a few weeks I will travel to Bangkok for a few days, but I can't get it clear how safe it is to travel to this city. I read a lot about protest of the Red Shirt, roadblocks, etcetera. But I would like to know if it is safe to travel to this city as tourists? Our hotel (Emperial Queens Parc Hotel) is not very far from the Thai Government (approx. 7 km). Is this a dangerous zone? Can we travel safely trought Bangkok by taxi and/or Skytrain? Hopefully someone can tell me a little bit more. Regards, Tim

moe666
Stay away from Silom and Rama 4 and the area around Siam Plaza you should be ok. I just returned from a 3 month visit to Thailand and the only time I saw a red shirt was on a trip to visit girlfriends son in Chula Hospital and it is located at Silom and Rama 4. No problems or trouble up country.
