I have been living in Thailand for 6 years. I have a Thai wife and have used marriage to extend my visa. My problem is my current extension expires on the 8th of May. I have applied for another extension ( 21st April ) and am waiting. I have a stamp stating that my application is under consideration and that I am to attend on 7th June. I wish to travel to Singapore this week leaving on the 5th and returning the 10th. My question is I will need a reentry permit which I intended getting on Tuesday ( 4th).

Will I be granted reentry on the "under consideration " stamp. I know I should ask immigration but I need to book flights and they will be closed tommorow. Has anyone here had similar experiences ?

It should not be a problem as re-entry can be used for any type of stay - it has the current stay date and just keeps it alive. I am not sure Immigration is closed tomorrow as it is not a Government holiday (only public) but Immigration sometimes does not follow norms.

Yes, you can get a re-entry permit on any kind of permit to stay stamp including an 'under consideration stamp'.

The OP mentioned something that is new to me:

In the past my 'under consideration' stamps started counting 30 days from the date of application. Only the final stamp started from the last day of the previous extension.

According to the dates the OP stated his 'under consideration' stamp starts counting from the end of his current extension.

Is this a new rule or just a chance mistake?

My apologies to the OP for having hijacked his topic.

Thank you both for your swift replies. Can anyone confirm if immigration offices are open tomorrow?

Re the stamp. I noticed this and thought it must be a mistake so I queried it with the IO. Don't know what not looking at me and waving meant. Took it to mean P*ss off so I did!
