Please leave a post below should you wish.

Yours truly,

Kan Win

Kanwin,

That is one of the best pieces of photo-journalism I have seen in more than 2 years.

Thanks for that.

A Memorial for Tourists who never went home.

A powerful idea and one that might focus minds.

(Reminds me of the Tiananmen 'Pillar of Shame' exhibited in Hong Kong)

My Best Mate at school & his gf were killed by shovel-wielding Nepalis while on a motor bike holiday in N. India

Bless Colonel.

They Kan not all Win, I suppose.

With Love and respect, may all rest in peace.

The fact that the 5 names are included on the plaque is quite moving. Kanchanaburi too, a place of reflection. Will this be a permanent fixture?

Nicely done, Kan Win. We will never forget them.

I imagine this will be removed by the authorities very soon. No good for business.

Every picture tells a story, and this one is a sad story indeed. Lest we forget....

Has this murder been solved yet?

Yes, I believe Kirsty Jones was killed in Kanchanaburi by a monk in that cave temple. The other two, weren't they the ones found murdered in the national forest?

Very sad to see, lets hope their families, at least, have found some peace.

It was shocking enough to hear a news of active duty policeman killing two tourists - execution style. And now a killer monk??? :o:D
