note - Yesterday it was announced that Division 1 and the Premier League will be increased (by2) to 18 clubs each. The knock on affect means 8 teams from Division 2 will get the chance for promotion. 4 will go directly up, the next 4 will probably play off against bottom 4 of Division 1.

Really? Are the leagues to be incresed in size next season? if that is true, then what does that mean for the playoff league that cmfc are playing in?

The top two from each play-off group will go up automatically, as planned. And the teams that finish third, and possibly fourth, may also get the chance for promotion by playing yet more play-offs against the teams that finished just above the relegation zone in Division 1.

Confused? Wondering why all this wasn't sorted out before the play-offs got underway? Welcome to Thai football!

20 Nov Away at Trang 6pm Kick Off

28 Nov Away at Buriram 5pm Kick-off

4 Dec Home against Pichit 6pm Kick-off (Should be 11 Dec)

11 Dec Away at Rangsit 4pm Kick-off (Should be 18 Dec)

18 Dec Home against Saraburi 4pm Kick-off (Should be 25 Dec)

Not sure why they changed it, but if you are lucky enough to be in chiang mai on xmas day think it will be a great evening out.

Personally think this chiang mai v saraburi will be the decider to see who finishes second, Buri Ram spanked Saraburi 5-1 last night, so 6 points in the next two games is a must for CMFC, don't think Trang will be any push overs. Buri Ram only beat them 1-0 at home a few weeks ago.

I think its been changed as the match on the 4th was the weekend of the Kings Birthday. Christmas day fun at the 700 year. :D:partytime2:

Cheers Nigel, sorry we never got chance to meet for a drink, hope to see you up here in the future.

No worries... we'll have to sort it our next time. Sure I'll be back for another CM match in the near future. Great atmosphere, can see a big future for the club.

One concern, if CM do get promoted they will be on the back foot from the start in Div 1 next year. Other Div 1 clubs will have about 3 months extra preparation time for the new season.

Today Chiang Mai defeated Trang in the away match on the other side of the country

Now CMFC 5 points clear in 2nd, but Saraburi have a game in hand. The top two go up. At this stage I reckon 2 home wins in remaining fixtures should secure a Div 1 spot for Chiang Mai in 2011.

Team - Points

Buriram - 13

Chiang Mai - 13

Phichit - 8

Saraburi - 8

Rangsit - 6

Trang - 0

Was today at fanclub shop at Chan Clan road to but tickets for the next game.

The guy said he did not have them and said we could get them at the 700 yr old stadium.

Went there, they said we have to buy them on the day of the match (sunday)

Anyone more info about how to get/where to get presale tickets?

Just where is the fanclub shop located?

Yep a good 2-0 win down in Trang last night. I hope the game between Saraburi and Buriram ends in a draw today, that will make it interesting at the top.

The Buriram game won't be played today because the Chidchobs are watching their other club - Buriram PEA - play in the League Cup final in Bangkok.

Some highlights of the 2-0 win over trang,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcdhZHJxUm8&feature=player_embedded

big game on saturday away to buri ram, hopefully will be on tv, but the FA cup final between muangthong & chonburi is on the same day so maybe not.

CMFC are well place now after the two wins, have the easier run in of the teams challenging, still in with a chance of top spot if we can pick up at least a point on saturday.

Yeah the game is on Sunday the 28th at 5pm, and the good news is that it is live on T-Sports, which is on both WETV & UBC/True, not sure which channel number but they have the logo in top right corner.

Seems to be a few going from chiang mai, and unlike buri ram they are not getting paid, seem to be charging 500 baht for the trip.

I must admit when you said it was on saturday I was getting ready to ring round some people and get a car full and stay over night and drive back on the Sunday. Don't really want to drive all the way back from Buriram on Sunday night and I have to be back early monday to do the School run so I can't stay over. :( but at least we have the TV to watch :D

What a great result!!! Buriram FC 0 - 1 Chiang Mai. 3 points clear at the top now with 3 games to go. But Buriram still have a game in hand. Great to see Anucha Chaiyawong #28 come on at the end also, looks like he may be getting back to fitness for the last 3 games.

Great result tonight, a good second half performance in a match with a lot of fouls and a poor pitch for a TPL team.

Saraburi won the other match against phichit, so hoping for a draw when saraburi play buri ram next weekend,

CMFC may be able to guarantee a top two spot with the next home game against phichit depending on next weeks result, rangsit seem to came from nowhere so may be a difficult away trip there.

The saraburi vs buri ram game finished 1-1, so CMFC have a 2 point cushion at the top,

if saraburi lose at home next saturday (3,30pm kick-off) we could guarantee promotion against phichit ,

But three points on saturday so see us nicely on our way, and a nice drinking day with no worries with a monday hangover

A great result. Lets hope in the early fixture that Rangsit can continue their good form and get a result against Saraburi. Chiang Mai have a tough home game against Phicit, we know how good they are as they beat us once already this season. Like you say Krung it could be a good drinking day with the match (possible promotion) and then the Thaivisa party after. Come on you Tigers!!!!

I've got a guest staying that wants to see the match next weekend. Help me out here please as I've never been but would like to. First off, is the game at the 700 year stadium, what day is the game and what time does it start, and can we get tickets at the stadium? Thanks.
