Got 10 tix no problem from club shop on Chanklan.

Guy in shop said 7000 Buriram supporters are expected!!! :whistling: Someone else mentioned that the club pay them 300bht to attend away matches!

More Chiangmai fans also expected to turn up. Doesn't think will sell out, but def more than usual.

Should be a cracker!

I planned to make it to this match about 6 weeks ago but got struck down with an illness yesterday, don't think I'll make the 10 hour bus trip from Bkk. Was going to make it next week for match against Tak but today Bangkok Glass got themselves into the finals of the Singapore cup scheduled on the same day... aargh

Anyway it turns out I can catch it live on T-Sport...

7th November - Chiang Mai v Buriram, live on T-Sport

I think 700 would be more accurate based on what they were taking to most games during the regular season. 7000 would be 5000 more than Big Brother club Buriram PEA took to any TPL match. BFC have only been getting 4000-5000 for home games in the play-offs. I'm sure the guy meant to say 700 but, then again, you can't put anything past that lot.

Just had a report in - it's sketchy so don't shoot the messenger.

6 busloads of 'nak leng' together with people from Buriram police and army(!?) are being brought up for the match. An aircraft has also been hired. At the moment it seems that it will be Buriram security forces (not Chiang Mai) that will oversee the match(!?).

I'm not trying to stir up panic, in fact I think that most likely there will be no trouble at all, but it's probably fair to say if it 'kicks off' at all at a CMFC game this year, it is most likely to happen at this match.

. . . Chiangmai, susu, susu, susu!

Yes, Karuna Chidsob, chairman of Buriram FC, will certainly be a family member

of Newin Chidsob, chairman of PEA Buriram and alleged kingmaker behind the

present government. That the King Power Group is one of the most important

sponsors shouldn't surprise either. A 'Thundercastle' ticket gave or still

gives discount in its duty free shops at Suvarnabhumi.

Let's hope that Chiangmai will defend the honours on behalf of every genuine

(thus un-paid) football supporter in this country. Susu Chiang Mai!

Though I don't know how your coach Porn and goaly Panza look back at their time in

Chiangrai United, I think that there is a lot of collective sentiment among our

two northern teams.

Yesterday we had a great motorcade in Chiang Rai to celebrate our promotion to

the Premier League that ended at the old airport where 'Khon Bai Kai Kread' of

Channel 3 provided the entertainment. Free food and ten Baht for a glass of beer ...

It was heartwarming to see that our brothers from Chiang Mai FC belonged to the

food sponsors (Chiangrai FC was absent ...).

I regret I wasn't there when you teached them some football here in Chiang Rai.

I heard there were three times more supporters from Chiang Mai than from Chiang Rai

itself to see them loose 1 - 4.

Chiang Mai FC certainly belongs in the First Division!

Limbo :yohan:

Also a group of big bikes participated in the motorcade, several from Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai probably didn't deserve the win but had done enough for the draw.

Buriram had a very strong midfield and a defense as well drilled as their uniformly orange-clad crowd. Rent-a-crowd if ever I've seen it (the figure of 700 quoted earlier seems about right). Reminiscent of North Korean state celebrations.

A figure of 20,000 attendance was announced at half time, which I'm not too sure about, but the stadium was almost full, which is nice to see.

Anyway, can't really begrudge Buriram their victory.

For me, the evening was somewhat tainted by the wholly inappropriate half-time donation by Chidchob of 100,000 baht to CMFC, greeted with unanimous cheering from the crowd.

A clearer example of politics exploiting football could not have been made.

Perhaps, but what Chidchob's doing is an ominous example of what Thai football may become since we all know that - unpalatable as it is - it's money that maketh a successful team.

They might as well go the whole hog and have teams like Bhum Jai Thai FC, Democrat FC and Peua Thai FC. Urghhh.

700 lol I think more like 1500-1800 from buriram would be more precise amongst a crowd of at best 12000,they out sung us most of the game!! Very organised.think they earnt there 300baht each if true

Draw would of fair, but this highlights we have a lot of work to do if promoted for next season, only Number 4 sawut(spelling)is semi class for cmfc

Totally agree with all your points apart from I was saying nearer 15,000. It seems that the word is out, that to trouble Chiang Mai Fc just rough them up a little at the start. Why the hel_l he didn't play Vincent I'll never know. Even bringing him on as an impact player usually works but he never got a chance last night.

A bit more than 12,000 i think ;) , the main stand must hold 7,000, 1,500 Burriram so your saying that there was only 3,500 people in the rest of the ground :o

,

they out sung us most of the game!!

A big away following will always out sing a home ground due to them being more fanatical and diehard regardless if they get paid or not.

Cm were missing there so called 3 best players and took off the no4, any team is going to struggle without these or perhaps you failed to notice this as it seems that you were paying more attention to the Burriram supporters ;) .

It seems that the general negativity of the Chiang Mai thread is now transpiring to the football thread :o .

Congratulations to Chiangmai Foxy, the first person to show any negativity towards the team on the football thread :annoyed: .

It's always good to have a laugh to brighten up a Monday morning at work. These fanatic diehards were notable by their absence last season when Buriram F.C were attracting home crowds of 150-200 before the Chidchobs and their money came along.

Latest tables LINK

Chiang Mai's next game is at home to Trang (bottom of the group, lost four out of four) next Sunday at 18:00.

So that should be 3 points, with at least one of the two teams above CM dropping points on the same day. Suddenly things don't seem so bad.

One piece of realism you got wrong :(

Heard a few things about the Chiang Mai players that weren't present yesterday and I was wondering if any one could shed any more light on the issue. Were those players banned, due to yellow cards, because I know that we have been picking up quite a lot of cards as of late. The Champs League follow that systems so it would make sense to me.

Was today at fanclub shop at Chan Clan road to but tickets for the next game.

The guy said he did not have them and said we could get them at the 700 yr old stadium.

Went there, they said we have to buy them on the day of the match (sunday)

Anyone more info about how to get/where to get presale tickets?

I don't think you will need to buy tickets in advance for the next game, its against Trang and I doubt very much there will be anywhere near as many people, certainly not as many away fans as Trang is 20 hours away on the bus. Just turn up and pay on the gate.

Yes, I was able to buy a ticket at the gate for last Sunday's match, and that baby was fullllll. So I'm sure there won't be a problem this Sunday! (Like Thaimiller said.)

Can't wait for the game this weekend! This has become one of my most favorite forms of entertainment :D You can usually find me in the grandstand section between the two guys with dueling megaphones, somewhere in the first 10 rows.

SUSU CMFC!!!

See you there this Sunday!

note - Yesterday it was announced that Division 1 and the Premier League will be increased (by2) to 18 clubs each. The knock on affect means 8 teams from Division 2 will get the chance for promotion. 4 will go directly up, the next 4 will probably play off against bottom 4 of Division 1.
