Agro Supplies Chiang Mai

Recommended Posts

Hello whitrussian, have you tried? http://www.datt.co.th/

They are in CM, I don't know CM, but most of the adds for

such are out of BKK.

Try a google for Jewish co's ag supplies Thailand or Jewish

co's chemicals Thailand. Thats how I found WESCO for nutes,

they ship, but you should be able to find most chems to make

your own in CM ag stores.

Hello Koon Rice!

Apologies for a late reply - first week back at 'work'...

Thank you for your suggestions! I will look into those.

I have been in touch with the other green fingered guru.. thescot. He recommended a high tunnel.

Trouble is I live in an upmarket moobaan, and I worry about the neighbours, as their view from the living room window would be blocked... so i have to make the tunnel look smart... or at least not straight out of a hill tribe village.

I see from your photos that many of your plants are outdoors, do you have a shelter from the heavy rain during rainy season? If so do you use netting above them?

This is my first attempt at gardening here in Thailand, and I have yet to study the natural patterns of growth here.. I assumed that NOIW is the time to plant, ready for the rain, but of course I forgot that the rains here would likely crush any seedlings!!!

Any advice greatly appreciated!

thank you :)

Hello whiterussian, how large of a GH are you looking for?

If this is more of a hobby, vs a working farm and you don't want to be

an eye sore, look through: http://www.fourseasonssunrooms.com/ and

come up with some idea what would work. Get you ideas and some pictures

and try a local glass shop and see what can be hammered out.

I rent where I live now and will be moving to the farm when the house is

finished, then it will be time to build the net/greenhouse(s).

I grow with no covering outside after I transplant, the way most things are

grown in LOS, price up-price down.

You have a lot of covered ag in CM, look around.

Good Luck rice555

Thanks rice!

I know there are an awful lot of covered farms here, but they all cost far too much money to replicate!

Im just trying to isolate all the factors involved at this stage before I move to a large plot of land in the years to come. (at the moment the land is just used by anyone in the village who want to put the effort into growing a crop - isnt that great!?)

That website had a nice pergola, I guess i could find a quick growing vine to create shade over the tilled plot in my garden... and use netting initially.

I think my main concern with netting was what happens in heavy rains, but I guess it would shelter the young plants enough.

Even thought about a bamboo frame for a 'greenhouse' I think I could get something knocked togther for about 2-3000. It would be about 5m wide x 7m long and 3m high.

Although you have said you transplant to open sun, i could just build a nursery.

Quite pleased I managed to track decent company for the hoops on a GH.. only 100 baht for 4 meter pole (inc bending in the machine)

choices choices!

Thanks again...
