Thai Protesters To Rally Until Deputy PM Suthep Surrenders

I predict that the reds will just keep coming up with more demands/excuses.

I believe the government will ultimately have to use force to remove the red shirts.

Taksins take on this is he gets nothing out of Abhisits proposal, and they have nowhere to go, so lets make a new demand to keep the campaign going.

The Nation: here's latest twist. Nuttawut said Reds won't accept Suthep surrendering to DSI. "Conflict of interest", Nuttawut said.

Of course not, Suthep is basically the guy who runs the DSI. It's like Mickey Mouse surrendering to Disneyland. :)

Red to the core, eh? Nuttawut stated clearly, remember, if he turns himself in, the reds will leave. He made arrangements, and Nuttawut suddenly changed his stance. It really stands to reason that everything the red leaders have said is nothing but lies and deception. The veil has been uncovered.

Not at all. Suthep surrendering to his own department ..are you serious? It is like Mickey Mouse surrendering to Disneyland. Or Michael Jackson surrendering to Neverland. They should arrest Seh Daeng if they want to make any progress. But the army is standing 10 feet away from him and isn't doing anything. Maybe they don't want this to end?

Yo! Che,

Nuttawut asked for it and Suthep complied. Simple as that :D

Okay, let's say the reds disperse... then suddenly all the leaders are exposed. They can be arrested on the spot, but they will not be, because the police do not want to arrest them. So there we have it... terrorists bargaining with the government because the government has no power to enforce the law. Honestly I want to see Prayuth in there NOW....

Get some sharpshooters on the buildings and start picking off the leaders one by one... then lets see if they negotiate...

I tend to agree with you about General Prayuth. From what I have read, he would be less inclined to put up with redshirts and their terrorism.

Don't talk about something you only get a small selected part of info and not the real picture. I just had to open my window and I could listen word by word what Nattawut and Jatuporn were declaring some moments ago. Here what I understood from the life announcements:

The red leaders want to have equal treatment and no double standards. If they are to face terrorism charges then PM Abhisit and Suthep have to face equivalent charges for killing at least 21 civilians on April 10. Abhisit and Jatuporn have got parliamentary immunity therefore they can be charged but they don't have to turn themselves in before the house is dissolved. Suthep has no immunity so he has to be charged and has to turn himself in. Once Suthep is charged and turns himself over to the police, they will end the rally and the leaders except Jatuporn will also turn themselves in to deal with the charges. The red leaders demand a level playing field in the judicial process. There will be no reconciliation if the cases for ordering the killing of civilians on April 10 are not pursued against perpetrators.

The fact that Suthep turns himself in to the DSI was known already earlier. This is not enough for the red shirts because there is a very obvious conflict of interest.

Don't shoot the messenger - I stay out of political discussions and will not answer any comment; I just felt it was necessary to clarify and provide more facts of what is going on.

Doesn't Suthep need to have broken some laws and be charged with something to surrender to police?

And if they don't accept him surrendering to the DSI, just who is he supposed to surrender to?

Sah Deng of course!!! :):D:D:D:D:D

The red terrorists are now wanting more. They now want Suthep to turn himself into the Crime Suppression Unit. It's really a waste of time anymore, since the reds are not true to their words. Jatuporn, last week states he will turn himself in to face charges of terrorism. Today it's another dance and song. I'm sure they're look great on the international stage. First Chula, now renegading on each and every word they say. Even the events of April 10th can't be trusted given the leaders propensity for lies.

Well, reds said they will go home when he surrenders?

If he surrenders tomorrow will the reds now man up and go home?

You tell me

If he surrenders to the POLICE, not the DSI which is full of all his mates..!!

The DSI is the organization handling the complaint filed by the families of the deceased. The Reds demanded the the investigations into the violence of April 10 be handled by the DSI. Perhaps he could surrender to the Stateman security guard outside CP Tower? They might not be mates.

This is the tail wagging the dog!

After reading countless posts from Cheguevara, and in particular the ones above I have come to the conclusion he is a sandwich short of a picnic.

I like that one but my favorite is...He is a hamburger short of a happy meal.

Che was a murderer so stands to reason where he stands on this matter.

So let me get this straight. The entire red shirt movement now hinges on the fact that they think it was 'unlawful' for the prime minister to order police and soldiers to disperse a protest.

The PM has every right. That's his job, the deaths, whilst unfortunate in the extreme, were a consequence of individuals deciding to confront the 'legal forces' assembled to disperse them.

There is no double standard here, the PM is empowered to take these decisions, especially as a state of emergency was in force.

This is without a doubt the most stupid thing i have ever heard in Thailand. A classic.

Ordering a protest to be dispersed does not equal ordering the murder of people.

------------------------------------------

Precisely! It is unbelievable to me that the reds are dictating terms and conditions, especially to force the PM and Deputy PM to "surrender" for doing their jobs. The reds are the ones who have broken the law! If a policeman shoots a man who is about to kill a hostage, do you arrest the policeman for doing his job?!

If Abhisit/Suthep agree then they are truly powerless.

They are not going to leave tomorrow.

Morons...

Why don’t we just surrender the country to the Red Shirt and done with it. This is never going to end, even if you give them the everything they want.

I think it is time to take some hard actions. Start with closing the camp and do not let anyone to go in, only out. If anyone want to go out is ok, search and arrest anyone under investigation. Time will solve the problem

The red leaders are split on what direction they want the group to go. I recommend they go home since the EU and the US sure as hel_l are not going to interfere.

Suthep will surrender and walk on bail after 30 minutes, with a trial never happening. Just like the yellow shirts surrendered and walked on bail after 30 minutes and 2 years later, a trial is still not visible on the horizon.

However, when the red shirts surrender, they will not be able to walk on bail after 30 minutes. The strictly enforced double standards in Thailand prohibit that. :)

SO WHAT ????? Let's get a end on this, that's what matters ! Sorry only my oppinion :D

Sounds quite clear when you say it like that, doesn't it?

Oh wait, wait," farang don't understand Thai culture" right?

Do they have any idea how khwaai they sound when they spout BS like that?

Well, spank my ass and call me cheap Charlie, this farce will never end.

Why don't the government just start setting up a postal office for them and give them their own postal code and other infrastructure?

But serially, a good way to get rid of the protesters would be to place Songkran sized speaker trucks around Ratchprasong and play some Thai ghost/horror movie sound track at 130dB.

All that ghost screaming should send the self-named phrai running for cover.

Oh, I'm sorry, they would call that intimidation and terrorism. And unfair, of course.

I am flying in on the 31st, those idiots better be gone by then.

Yeah, right... :)

Actually, there is no double standard.

Many of the red leaders today were released on bail from 3 years ago, not 2 years like PAD leaders, and the red leaders' trials are still not visible on the horizon after even a greater time of waiting by the public to see them held accountable.

These thugs have been leading violence for a loooong time with, as of yet, no repercussions.

I believe they might have violated their bail conditions around 2,109 times:

From the August 6, 2007 The Nation

Six anti-coup leaders freed on bail

Six detained leaders of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship are released on bail on Monday at 5 pm on a condition ordered by the Criminal Court that they will not lead any rallies or cause trouble concerning the national security.

The six leaders are Veera Musigapong, Jatuporn Phromphan, Jakrapob Penkair, Natthawut Saikua, Wiputalaeng Patanapumithai and Apiwan Wiriyachai.

The Monday release meant all nine DADD leaders were out of jail.

On August 2, the Criminal Court freed on bail Weng Tojirakarn and Manit Jitchanklab on bail after each deposited Bt200,000 as guarantee.

National Human Rights Commissioner Jaran Ditha-apichai was released on bail a few days earlier.

Nine DAAD leaders were arrested for their alleged connection with clashes in front of Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda's residence on July 22.

I belive its a little different having a minister post and in control of a countrys operations than being a demonstrator in charge of violent demonstrations where innocent people gets hurt and killed. No matter what you are demonstratiing against the leaders organizing it will of course run a great risk facing charges if they cant control their masses. Could you imagine a democratic system that gave amnesty to demonstrators just because it happened under a demonstration. That would for sure be a f...ed up political system!

Not shooting the messenger. Suthep and Abhisit shouldn't have to face equivalent charges for anything. The reds are convinced that both are responsible for the killing and wounding of many on April 10. However, their "proof" as they call it, is from a video played by Arisiman which shows nothing but shadowy, blurred figures. That's not evidence at all. I personally give more credence to a hard core reds stating that Thaksin actually seeded the black shirts, and it was the black shirts who caused the mayhem and murder. This group of terrorists have no complaint about April 10th until they investigate the seeding of the real killers.

They can bitch and moan all about double standards, but they need to look at themselves first. Better yet, at their paymaster.

they made this demand, they are the ones who demanded

he turn himself in ...

So according to you, the red shirt leaders made a rather

silly demand

This really is becoming more farcical by the day. The Government making more empty threats, the Red shirts making sillier demands.

I am waiting for tomorrow when the Red shirts demand Abhisit and Suthep to walk hand in hand the whole length of Sukhumvit, stark boll@ck naked, and then they promise to go home.

Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, say well for the good of the country we will do it. They do it and then the Red Shirts say Ah but you went the wrong way!!!

Its ridiculous, country being held to ransom, Govt too weak to do anything.

Send the tanks in, enough of the procrastination. Red Shirts are deliberately taking the p!ss

Is there no weapon that can explode after piercing the side of the container the leaders meet in? Till this very minute I've thought waiting it out was for the best, but now I can see horrible future violence if this isn't made to end soon. Hopefully by cutting the heads off the beast.

Duh, commie boychik,

ALL police are his department he is HEAD OF SECURITY...

This has to be one of the stupidest Red Demands yet.

But they are grasping at straws, no matter which police he 'surrenders' to,

actually being arraigned and charged is not the same thing as 'surrendering'....

an endless chain of new condistions coming until the army

arrives at the red gates and knocks with the big stick.

By thew way they are rather long over due to surrender to police themselves.

Thanks for bringing the truth to this thread . It seems according to the Nation trusted word :) that the reds are only after Suthep not the PM but you must know better

Problem is that like this , the protest will never end

I am worried for the future . Time to put some plywood on your windows LOL
