Nothing , you just hand over your passport , they will check if the extension is approved

and will stamp your extension in your passport directly .

You already gave them copies of everything they wanted before waiting your approval .

So relax , its just takes a couple of minutes only .

However, if you plan to make any travel during the year it would be good to obtain a re-entry permit as soon as you get that stamp. That will be 1k for single entry or 3800 for multi entry plus form/photo.

To add to Lop3's comment, ALWAYS a good idea to get the Re-Entry permit, even a single at baht 1,000, even if you don't plan any travel outside Thailand during the next year. Who knows, some emergency might come up on a Friday afternoon and you'd need to travel over the weekend, sans re-entry permit, and return to Swampy with a 30-day airport chop.

Normally such a travel would allow you time to obtain a non immigrant visa at your travel location and you can easily do the extension of stay process again - a good idea for many I agree - but not the end of the world if you don't - but best to know what would happen and how to deal with it.

It isn't ALWAYS a good idea. For me - for instance - since I haven/t been out of Thailand since '05 , I would have totally wasted 5000 Baht. It's like paying for a car insurance although you have no car.
