Any Phuketians Riding To Samui Bike "week" June 11th And 12th?

Featured Replies

Hi scuba, good idea you posted here even though I don't expect much of a response from Phuket based TV members/riders. Remember how your call for organized ride to Malaysia Moto GP ended? Lots of talk and no action....you went all by yourself, kudos to you.

Anyway, I can confirm me and another 3 Thai guys will be going 100%. With you that makes us 5 already.

I heard lots of Thais and some expats will be leaving with their respective clubs as early as 3am on Saturday, June 11th. Most of these guys aren't even members of this forum, you don't have to ask them twice to join if there is a organized ride.

This year event is held on June 11th and 12th.

Ideal would be to leave on Friday, June 10th, but lots of folks are still working.

We should get going on Saturday, June 11th, say 6am or even earlier. Any thoughts on this?

Event program and schedule can be found HERE.

Thanks G, I was just going to do that.

Hi guys, can i be a groupie, silly question i know, can i go pillion or is it strictly ride a bike yourself only, i think that would be a crazy and cool adventure thing to do, serious i think i would love to try it !!!!!

Plenty of guys take pillions.. My bikes have a 45kg weight limit tho.

Seriously.. My missus likes to join me on rides and is pretty good at handling it even if we do all day rides, but the fact is some of what I want a bike for simply isnt something I would subject her to, its one thing to roll the dice, push it harder, and risk myself, but I am not putting her through the same risks I am happy to take. So any riding with her tend to the very low risk touring, good fun but different riding.

Also I like riding for the 'alone time' it gives you.. Your not thinking about anything other than concentrating on the road and riding, but Thais tend to see alone time differently, just a cultural thing.

But I suspect you could find a lift easy enough if you can travel light.

OK, thanks for that, i'll ckeck it out in the local community, i know a couple of the boys who tour back and forward to the neighbouring provinces frequently ie krabi, samui
