Thai Tv Channel 9 กบนอกกะลา

Thai Channel 9 has a recurring show called กบนอกกะลา. Unlike 95% of Thai TV, I could actually understand a good portion of what the narrator was talking about (last night's topic: field rats! นานา น่ารู้ กับหนูนา). The best part of the show was the thai open caption at the bottom of the screen. I'd love to record a show like that and play it back to improve my Thai (about intermediate level). I tried the http://www.tvburabha.com/tvb/home/program_list.asp?cate=2 website but can't figure out a way to view/download the video.

I'm using Windows 7, Windows media, Opera browser.

Any suggestions?

Once upon a time, I wanted the the Thai transcript of a Kareoke so I wouldn’t have to keep playing the video to read it. What I did was a screen capture of the window every time the script changed on the video. From the screen shots , I cut out the text and pasted them in order on a document. I won’t be doing it again because the effort wasn’t worth it. If one was very dextrous, it might be possible to do this from a live streaming show while recording the audio at the same time.

Did you try realplayer downloader? Videos that can be downloaded usually show up on that.

They seem to have some of the episodes viewable on-line here. The latest one is 7th May 2010.

There are also some on Youtube.

Hadn't seen it before but from the Wikipedia entry seems to be documentary-style program featuring a behind the scenes look at novel things you may not have seen before.

Just took a quick look at one and seems quite interesting.

กบนอกกะลา I think this idiom is about broadening your horizons and thinking outside the box, which fits in with the program style.

I watched the show and got a lot out of it -- particularly a desire to go to Suphanburi and feast on some of those tasty field rats......
