All tourists safe in boat accident

TRAT: -- A tourist boat capsized near the Kang Kao Island off Thailand's eastern Trat Province Saturday evening.

All the 26 passengers were, however, safely rescued, according to local journalists.

Local authorities said the accident was caused by high waves in the sea.

Earlier, the Department of Fisheries warned small trawlers and tourists to refrain from all marine activities, including fishing, diving and cruising, until October due to high waves and strong wind with possible storms during this rainy season.

The Kang Kao Island, or Koh Kang Kao, is located near the more wellknown Si Chang Island.
