Hi, sorry I guess I've read that somewhere a long time ago. Being in a situation holding a WP based on a teaching position.

Now I'll have to leave to Europe because of medical circumstances.

Planning to give my WP back Wednesday. Is it okay when I show up at the same day at the Immigration for the seven day visa?

If so, do they charge 1,900 baht? Thanks for any advice regarding this situation in the LOS.

You have to elave the same day your employment act, or go to Immigration and get a 7 day extension for 1,900 baht and a pass photo.

When you go to labour, take a letter from your employer stating which date your employment ended.

Thanks a lot for your fast reply, :)

The above is true only if you are here on an extension of stay (you probably are). If you just had a normal 90 day visa entry it would still be valid.

Thanks again lopburi, I'm on an extension of stay, everything legal. Taught here for five years, always legal. Like to keep it that way. Cheers.

You do not have to be on an extension of stay to be legal - only have a work permit and non immigrant visa entry that allows work. Many people do not qualify for extensions of stay but are fully legal.

Hi lopburi, sorry another question.

Just came back from my school asking for the letter signed by the director. Nobody had any idea what to write, so they told me to write something in English and they'll translate it into Thai.

Any idea what to write? Fortunately it's just a letter saying that the period of employment ends on day XX , right? Any advice is deeply appreciated.

P.S. Regarding the letter for the labour department.

Yes, it is just a simple letter to the Labour office, informing them that your employment has ended and the date on which it ended.

Just have them identifying you and telling which date the employment ends.
