MP so obviously honest and full of integrity. :)

One more thing is wrong with this country. The rich can do anything and they get special privileges. One more item to be added to the Road Map

Mr. Prime Minster this NEDDS TO BE CHANGE

He's one of the rich and privileged too, and so are his superiors, nothing will change.

No idea if it's true or not but these photos are supposedly of Nuttawaut AFTER his arrest.

According to The Nation, they have been confirmed as real. It prompted a response from CRES this evening that treatment of detainees at Nareasuan camp is appropriate.

Yea, I doubt those poorer class guys that were laying in the streets with their hands tied behind their backs and blindfolded are getting the same treatment.

It's certainly pays to be rich and influential in Thailand, no wonder governments will do virtually anything to stay in power and others will try virtually anything to get that power.

We'd all like to see these terrorists strung up by their testicles, but there is no way the government has the incentive to do that. Those so called leaders still represent what little influence remains over at least a third of the country.

The government needs at least some of these guys to bring the red rank and file back to this side of the law. They're going to sweet talk these guys and tell them to turn on Thaksin and bring the reds back from the edge of civil war. They also need them to testify against Thaksin for terrorism, and to help seize the financial assets that were frozen during the past few weeks. They are much too important to simply put a bullet in their brain, although truthfully that is what they deserve.

I don't know if the government will be successful with this plan, but there is too much at stake to engage in revenge right now, as much as I'd like to see them roasted alive over a spit. I suspect this was all arranged before their surrender anyway.

While I may not personally like it, at least this government has the maturity and moral courage to try and reach a genuine compromise with the terrorist faction, and that may actually convince the reds to start behaving like adults again. On the flip side, can you imagine what this country would be like if the childish red miscreants had won this battle? There is no way they could be honourable in victory. The entire country would be in flames.

I'm going to give the government the benefit of the doubt for now. I hope they know what they are doing. If it works, Abhisit still may come out of this whole thing a hero. If it fails, he is going to have to answer to the rest of the country why he didn't castrate these criminals when he had a chance.

All we can do is wait, buy a bucket of popcorn and watch the performance.

Jatuporn has immunity until after the government is out of session since he is a MP. Same reason why Abhisit couldn't "turn himself in" as the Reds demanded. Once the session is over Jatuporn can face charges.

In regards to the photos of Nuttawaut living the good life, according to the National Police Spokeman (as relayed through TAN Network) the emergency decree explicitly prevents them from being put in prison, so instead they are being held in residences at the base.
