Hi,

Something came up and I need to go to Vientiane for a couple of days. I was wondering that am I able to get a new double entry tourist visa, and then get back in Thailand using my old double entry tourist visa, which still has one entry remaining?

It’s a long way to Vientiane for me, and getting a new visa now, instead of going back there again in 3 months from now, would be great, but is it possible?

I was in the same situation last year. I had a double entry (one entry still valid) when I wanted to get a new one (to coincide with my girlfriend's one) but I didn't take the chance of being refused at the Thai Consulate so I did a border run to Cambodia to use up the second entry a week earlier.

It's quite possible they may just tell you to use up your existing entry first, afterall they are free right now and you're causing them extra paper work for nothing.

I agree with the previous posters that you will only be allowed to have one active visa at the time.

But even if you by some miracle were allowed to get a new visa wile retaining your existing one, it still woudn't do you much good. Your new visa would only be good for three months, so you would not have time to use the second entry on the visa.

I don't think the OP was expecting both to remain valid. The question was whether he could get a new one while he still had a valid entry from the previous one.
