Yes, the update automatically arrives on your phone and you will get a notification. But you can try checking for an update in the system settings if you want.

Big exitement on xdadevelopers.com, apparently HTC Holland have confirmed 2.2 will be released "tomorrow" (their tomorrow, i.e. today). Nobody has got it yet though but 20 pages of people retrying the "update software" button for the umpteenth time. I guess we'll be following shortly after, Asia is usually at the front of updates.

I couldnt wait and updated to Froyo FRF 50 about 3 weeks ago and started receiving the Over the air update about a week after that. However when I do the OTA upgrade the installation keeps failing. Anyone had the same problems as the Google forum is not much help at the moment?

Yeah you need to downgrade to the original firmware before you can use the ota upgrade.

Using the Nexus One tethering hotspot with Maxis 3G here in KL. Awesome... no cables or nada. Just turn on the APN on the Nexus, then enable the tethering (I have both set up as one-touch widgets on the home screen). By the time I go to the fridge and come back with a coldie, the laptop has connected to the internet and I am downloading Jap porn chatting with dad on yahoo, streaming BBC Radio 2 and doing email. I even use a cool ftp utility to transfer some huge work files while sleeping which saves me going into the office until after 9. Bonus!
