This is the first time to go to CW and extend my permission to stay (PTS) for another year. The first extension was less than three months after getting my NIO visa.

Does my photo really need to be "recent"? I had my photo taken for the NIO visa and got a bunch of copies which I would like to use up. That means that they are only a little over a year old, and I don't think I aged that much since then. In any case, I have used many photo shops/stalls over the years and they always photoshop the photo, even when I told them not to, so the photos look a little younger than my true age anyway.

I didn't go out of Thailand in the past year. Do I still need to supply new photocopies of my admit stamp and TMS6 departure card? If I do, can I skip copying the back of the TMS6 since nothing was marked or stamped on it (it was stamped on the front)? I don't think I made a copy of the back for the first extension?

My official admittance date is not my actual entry date, since I entered on a 30-day PTS and applied for the NIO visa in Bangkok while I still had more than 21 days lef on the PTS. I assume that I use the date of my latest admittance stamp even tho I didn't actually enter the country on that date.

I will be using the bank balance as proof of funds. I have seasoned the Bt800,000 in a three-month time deposit. My bank, BAY, will give me a bank letter around noon because it has to be issued by the head office. I have to apply for the letter the day before. The first time I did this the bank letter gave the balance as of the day I applied for the letter, meaning it was already a day old when I picked it up. The second time the letter showed the balance as of the same day I picked up the letter.

If I pick up the letter around noon or after lunch, by the time I make it out to CW it will be mid-afternoon. Will I have to a long wait to see an officer? How long does it take to get processed, especially in the afternoon. I'd hate to have to go all the way out there, wait all afternoon, and not get served and told to come back the next day.

If I get the bank letter and go to CW the next day, will there be a problem with the letter being a day old?

If I show immigration the fixed deposit, will they ask to see my regular passbook savings account? I understand that they don't need to see proof that the funds came from overseas. Do they ever ask how you are supporting yourself?

Will I have to show proof of address?

I hope to kill 2 birds w/1 stone by also filing my 90-day address report. Can I get 2 queue numbers, 1 for the retirement extension and 1 for the 90-report?

If I need forms, can I get them at Suan Plu or Chamchuree without having to go all the way out to CW? (I don't have a printer).

I am thinking of taking the Skytrain, now that it's running, to Mor Chit, then riding a van to the govt complex. Does anyone know where the vans are parked and what are their route numbers? Do the vans start from Mor Chit or do they pass by and pick up passengers on their way to the govt complex or Pakkred?

Finally, has anyone noticed if the workload is extra heavy at CW since it was closed for several days due to the protest?

Thanks for any help and I would also like to ask the gurus on this forum to stress that the 3-month seasoning of the bank deposit must be three months before the day you go in to apply to extend the PTS. That means it could be up to four months before the PTS expires. It seems that someone is giving the wrong info on this in this forum. However, correct me if I'm mistaken on this point. It might seem obvious, but I also counted three months back from the PTS expire date, then later realized that I needed to open the 3-month fixed account earlier than that. So now I have to wait until about two weeks before my PTS expires before my account reaches three months and I can file my extension.

1. Recent photo means within six months - they will likely check if it has been used before in there file.

2. New copies of everything since non immigrant visa and departure card front and back (they my not require back of yours but they do of mine {old form}).

3. Date of arrival is the date of your actual arrival in Thailand and arrival/departure card issued.

4. Believe there may be a branch bank in basement if you have problems with letter - expect they will require an ATM receipt of that day showing balance.

5. Yes they could ask how you support yourself but do not believe it is often asked.

6. You may be asked for address. Take some form of proof just in case.

7. You can obtain forms at CW and do as you wait - I have seen one person getting both numbers but would not do myself.

8. The rule has always been two or three months before application. That is the reason only two months is required for first extension - you have time to do on a 90 day entry.
