June 17, 200521 yr I have several accounts. Thai Military bank (No English) I opened when I first arrived. Bangkok Bank because I thought it was the best and they spoke English. But the last 4 years I have done most of my banking through Siam Commercial Bank. Everytime I travel to the States or UK or even within Asia I have never had a problem withdrawing money. Also a few weeks ago I lost my ATM card (machine ate it) called them and they spoke great English and they stopped my account. Next day they quickly (20 minutes) got me a new ATM card and updated my account. I also have credit cards through them and they were very helpful in establishing these accounts. They were also voted number one for retail and commercial bank in some survey recently - beating out Bangkok Bank which had been number 1 the last 3 years
June 17, 200521 yr HSBC - Only one branch (Rama IV) but universal Thai ATM access. If you want a Thai Credit Card, SCB is not a good choice.
June 17, 200521 yr If you want a Thai Credit Card, SCB is not a good choice. you should have mentioned WHY it is not a good choice......
June 17, 200521 yr SCB Will normally not give credit cards to foreigners - they sometimes offer a secured credit card where you must maintain a secured savings account equal to your credit limit.
