The A380, which can accommodate 555 passengers will enter service for the first time in 2006.

In fact the first airlines (Qantas and Singapore) will not be recieving their first A380s until 2007. Thai are not due to get theirs until 2008 but they were specifically purchased for the London and Frankfurt routes.

Of more immediate interest is whether wifey will get a B747 with the new entertainment system on the Saturday night LHR-BKK run. Still not as good as Singapore's or other major operators I hear.

Question that I am always getting asked regards the new rules with Thai Airways not awarding milage with "LOW CLASS" economy fares W-V.

Simply and has anyone done it..?

If you book with one of the Star Alliance members ..ie KLM-Luft-AA-UA-BMI..etc on a cheapo to say London -Bangkok or anywhere else even..

ie London New York r/t. and request the milage be added to your Royal Orchard Club Card account ....does it work?...know it should.... but does it?

Again lets say that your are short of say 5,000 miles for a goldie..will a quick flight to maybe New York and back get the miles added (say fly with BMI...on a cheapi)

.. :o
