wordchild post =

Jutaporn has done the Dems and their allies a massive favour;his reported claims such as the govt burned down Central World and the blackshirts had nothing to do with the reds are risable, and will be seen as such by most Thais (incl by many reds ). I am not Sutheps biggest fan but his was a pretty good performance and he showed up Jutaporn for what he is,an ignorant bully. PT are going to be decimated at the next election after this farce, and they probably now realize this. Newins group will make big inroads into their position in parts of Isarn and they will be reduced to their heartland areas of KK and CM. I would guess you will see some split in the party with those who have always wanted to maintain some distance from the extremists emerging more as a faction and maybe spliting away, joining Newins group?Meanwhile the Dems standing has been enhanced by this and they should be able to ,at least, consolidate their position outside Isarn and also make a few gains here and there, enough to ensure they are the largest party in the house. Abhisit maybe tempted to call a November election after all!

Good insight, and I think a likely scenario. A different scenario might eventually be measured by the certain death toll of canvassers when electioneering does start.

You guys just don't get it do you? Thaksin is the only Thai PM to have won 2 consecutive elections Abhisit has not won one. Abhisit is scared of holding a general election as he knows he will lose. There is no way he will call one until he absolutely has to. This will be great for the opposition Phue Thai party as they will have time to regroup and win the next election which will probably reslult in another coup as the Amart don't like the less well off running the country and here we go again who know who will occupy what but it will happen again it always does in Thai politics, welcome to Thailand and Thai politics! :)

How many votes did PTP get in the last election 0 - It is becoming increasingly obvious that PTP is far more radical and extreme than the People Power which got the largest slice of the pie in the last election. It is not beyond possibility that PTP extreme antics have scared away previous People Power voters. I wouldn't use past successes as an indicator of future success.

I believe Abhisit has won 7 consecutive MP elections,

and one Parliamentary election to be PM.

TRT and PPP guys are behind PTP and Red Shirts. PTP is the TRT 3rd string.

They are out of power so more desperate and with a 'nothing to lose' attitude.

Radicalized certainly in many cases, extremely motivated by revenge.

And not seeing their own culpability in their downfalls from the trough of spoils

that they have dedicated their lives to worshiping.

Yesterday an MP of PTP show a picture( real not fake) of some " black man" that shoot whit the soldier.....CNN show 100 video of soldier shoot at civilian unarmed, Aljazeera show a lot of pic same CNN.

Some red they wrong and they must pay( i agree whit you all), some soldier they wrong and...? They kill a reporter from my country whit TWO...TWO bullet, ONE in the stomach and ONE in the heart, there are many people can say that bullet come from the soldier...but no one word about and about the other reporter killed and about the first video from CNN( of course they are lier and they doctored all video) tha show one young man inside the red camp whit the BRAIN on the road...no weapon, no bomb nothings around him.

Oceano.

Sadly your country man didn't think of the colors of the day.

Red for protesters, and Black for the most violent faction of the protesters.

Green Armbands for press, and Camouflage for most in the army.

Sadly your countryman waded in wearing 'black' and no armband,

I saw the picture of him on a stretcher, equally sadly he got in a cross fire,

and in the smoke haze and confusion, likely was mistaken for a violent faction of the protestors.

The ones seen using grenade launchers, which can easily resemble

a long lens camera, under such conditions. He was an accidental death IMO,

but one that might have been avoided if he had dressed differently.

All too sad, but that is my analysis of why it happened.

If he was American or French, I would still have the same opinion on the cause.

That there were army out of uniform is not in dispute.

That doesn't mean that they were out to kill innocents.

They can as easily be counter terrorism squad members

dealing with the known snipers in the buildings,

and not being as easy to pick out as army as they searched buildings.

By the way the the guy in white with the army in that video did NOT carry a sniper rifle.

This video in no way does more than prove there were plain clothes with the army,

which they said could be the case.

Shot for wearing black clothes and no 'armband'? This is reason enough for the army to go for a kill and you a trying to justify this? Pathetic excuse.

I agree with all of that except I doubt it loses them as much support as you suggest. These people don't seem to care how ridiculous they appear, nor do their followers who will vote for who they are told to vote for.

I stayed up late last night to watch the Suthep response. I thought he comported himself very well and spoke to the intended audience in words that were very clear and hard hitting. If these people had any shame it would have been a very effective response. Sadly they do not.

Thaksins election victories were achieved on the back of an unusual set of alliances and shared interests and with some key business backers. He could not have achieved them with just the core northern vote. Those conditions are unlikely to be repeated again. At the next election the most likely scenario (as things stand) will be no party with an overall majority but with the Dems as the largest party.

Obviously the dems don't think so or they would be calling an election now

They offered November elections and the Reds rejected it. Why should he call elections now after they tried to burn down the city? We should reward that kind of behavior? Give the terrorists what they want after they set fire to our city. You'd make a great statesman.

Abhisit using very powerful evidence based stuff to show temple shootings didnt come from above and pointing out factual based lies of Jatuporn (no arrests but 2 arrests made and 10 warrants issued). Abhisit has done very well here in his rebuttal in a calm manner. Again aiming at the middle that PTP cant.

Chalerm by his statement knows the red issue is a lost one for the censure. Still he was the only PTP MP who knew this and started it from before the rallies started.

Abhisit brings the lunatic Farang as 'evidence' for the arson on Central world. :)

Well he was part of the Red Shits and he seemed to know what was happening. The Nazis were stupid enough to document their crimes. The Red Shits seem the same, they're stupid enough to document their crimes on video.

None of these representatives of the people raising issues have brought up the arson, intimidation, murder etc faced by the people of Bangkok and other provinces from the red shirts. It seems to be a double standard debate;) Or certainly one that has no purpose whatsoever of national reconcilliation just more hatred generation.

While I don't like him as much as others - I agree with Suthep.

It is very silly to listen to the Red Shirt leaders trying to defend themselves.

I had to listen to them every night for 30 days, and all the said kill, burn, etc. etc. so just go and look at thousands of video and article to see these people trying to destroy Thailand

Show me a heartless people that can walks with his/her 2 feet.

What an idiot.

Is that the best you can do? For a Red propagandist, you suck compared to the others.

These censure debates are a regularly occurring happening. Many times the main reason seemed an opportunity to show off. I can't remember a government voted out as result of a censure debate here in Thailand. Mostly the opposition of the day offers lots of accusations with the government having the burden to prove or disprove. Difficult sometimes, not because most accusations are correct, but actually more like suggestions or insinuations with dubious material offered as 'proof'. One fool can ask more questions than ten wise men can answer. happens in this forum also :)

Sorry to tell you the obvious

The EP's elect PM's not the people

and the present PM was voted in by MP's

Maybe its time you went back to school and learnt Thai politics

Loose translation:

You guys just don't get it do you? = I support Thaksin.

Thaksin is the only Thai PM to have won 2 consecutive election = He was only a caretaker PM at the time of the coup but I am going to ignore this.

There is no way he will call one until he absolutely has to = There is no requirement to call an election until 2011 and I don't like this.

the Amart don't like the less well off running the country = I know that Thaksin is a very wealthy crook, but I am going to keep pushing the class war line nonetheless.

welcome to Thailand and Thai politics! = I couldn't resist this piece of patronising nonsense, but I think it makes me look smart.

One day Taksin will realise he should have listened to his wife and given up politics. He has totally wasted him time and money trying to get back in power. As for feeling guilt about what he has done; I don't think he will ever feel guilt or remorse; he just blacks it out of his mind. Lives in denial.

As Suthep says, people are not stupid and can't be hoodwinked like the reds/PT are trying to do. Some interesting facts coming out of the government about what happened.

looks like it's clean up day!

it's about time and after all maybe it is not all that bad that the main player already alarmed the IWCT!

There's quite a bunch of people "out there" who will get a free, but very costly lesson what Kamma really means!

Did they really think this set up will go their way?

How sick/deranged someone needs to be to engage into some set up like this was...

"heartless people" is a very diplomatic and controlled expression!

Is it just me, or is the government completely destroying the PTP in this censure debate. Hard to argue with the truth - even though Jatuporn tries and tries.

Looks like Mr Rivers has stolen their thunder.

Now why would armed red shirts dress up in military fatigues while hanging around the skytrain...? What could possibly be the reason for passing themselves off as military personnel...?

Edited to add: Guess CNN report will overshadow this event. It is difficult to raise any issue and get interest in the shadow of other events. Many people will have watched this looking for signs of reconcilliatory talk. Abhisit did very well on aiming at this but nobody from PTP stood a chance with the blame the government for everything approach.

Suthep is no angel but he provides needed balance to Abhisit as they pursue their agenda in their "good cop/bad cop" style. Watching Suthep rebut Jatuporn's bile last night reminded me a of a nature documentary I saw once wherein a giant snake ate a pig whole.

I guess PTP has run out of heavy hitters. They currently have 'MP with a lazy eye and bad posters" speaking at 6pm (Prime time, Thai dinner eating, news watching hour). At least he isn't spitting when he talks, like last night's 8pm-10pm "MP who is quite possibly too fat to stand up, and sways from side to side, so his feet don't give out".

Edit -He has now pulled out a poster with a sign reading "Rancho Charnvee". 55555555555555555555

I'd like some nachos with my EPIC PTP FAIL!

Well he was part of the Red Shits and he seemed to know what was happening. The Nazis were stupid enough to document their crimes. The Red Shits seem the same, they're stupid enough to document their crimes on video.

Not lunatic Farang.

But evil Farang.

I must be the only unfortunate to have no CNN (and never seen a Radio Clock before).

I search the CNN web, no mention of this clip.

Can someone post a link to this said clip?

Many thanks in advance.
