Long Term Stay From Us

Featured Replies

I am planning on going to Thailand for a long time. I will be training in martial arts and plan on staying longer than one year, probably up to three.

I am 26, have roughly $15,000 in the bank, and will have a steady income of around $1000/month while I'm there.

What are my best options for a Visa? Will it be easiest to go to a language school while I'm there and get an Ed Visa, or is there a better idea?

Thanks.

An Ed-visa is a good choice. It doesn't necessarily have to be with a language school. In some cases Muay Thai is also accepted. If you have a school/training camp already, ask it they are able to assist you with the ED-visa. There is a small change they might.

Any idea if you can get an Ed Visa from most any Muay Thai school, or only specific larger ones?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm definitely going to try looking into that.

As said, the chance is small. It depends on the school and immigration office you will be dealing with.

maybe someone else on the forum can give you some names of schools that can help you with the ED-visa.
