TAT to promote Ko Samui as honeymoon destination for Europeans

BANGKOK (NNT) -- The southern Samui Island or Ko Samui will be promoted as honeymoon destination for European couples.

According to Head of the Tourism Coordination Center in Samui Saipayom Somsuk, the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Paris office has joined hands with its three alliances including Thai Airways International PCL, four French travel agencies and 20 private businesses in Ko Samui for the launch of the "Amazing Thailand – Amazing Romance project".

Newly introduced travel packages is targeting at European couples to spend their honeymoon on the island, while TAT will promote the island as Wedding & Honeymoon Destination for the European couples.

The TAT’s Paris office is preparing to launch ‘Magique Koh Samui’ on 12 June 2010, where 36 honeymooners, travel agents, correspondents and airline representatives will be brought to meet business entrepreneurs in Ko Samui and Ko Phangan. The traditional Samui plays will be on show at the event.

Ms Saipayom further disclosed that the coconut planting activity will be featured in the event as well as a traditional picnic called “Kin Khao Ho - Eating Rice in Neatly-wrapped Packages” and a Magical White Night to welcome their arrival later on.

It is a honeymoon destination since years. A major fact is, that the typical European honeymoon months are also the months in which the weather is better on Samui than at other places in Thailand.
