I've read a random array of discussions and technical information on the immigration visa application process. Probably missed way more than I've read. Some responses to questions seem only opinions, others seem to be born of experience, and many differences of opinion seem to stem from inconsistency of application by immigration offices!

In a few months I will run the gauntlet myself. I'm returning to live the remainder of my life and marry a Thai lady. Where do I start? With the Thai Embassy? Will they provide me all I need to know, the first round? How far ahead of actual travel ought I to begin the process with Thai Immigration?

Has anyone written a manual on the topic? Maestro?....you seem authoritative. Have you written anything on it?

Thanks,

You do not give a lot of information about yourself. Age etc.

If over 50 you can get a 12 month O-A Visa. When Married there will be other options.

This will be a good place to start.

Here is the police order giving details of extensions of stay once in Thailand.

There are no definitive guidelines as every Consulate and Immigration Office are different.

Extensions of Stay.
