Hi I am a new poster so please forgive me if this is not in the correct section... i am planning on using all of our 'Grey Water' for watering our plants and garden in Samui any suggestions re filtering etc... to reduce any smells? or any comments on doing this will be appreciated.

Might be worth talking to the Tong Sai bay hotel Choeng Mon and or Sixth Senses at Plai Lam as I think that they are eco-friendly and use grey water. I have also seen it in use at a large hotel in Chiang Rai and they ran the grey water through tanks with oxygenating plants before re-use.

Seems like there are various 'shades' of grey and some of the waste can be simply put into the garden. Other waste from the washing machine for example could be used if the detergents are OK. Filtering and stuff sounds expensive.

Sorry, not answering the question, just commenting. :)

PS .. .all my water is brown anyway, and I gave up long ago worrying about that! :D

My water is yellow going orange but shouldn't this be in the Health Forum.....btw my doctor says to drink more so I should be fine in a few hours.....

Bananas love lots of water and the phosphates that many laundry detergents have a lot of. Directing the outflow from a clothes washer into bananas works great. Coral Bay resort is another local business that recycles its water. I think they use water hyacinths as one step.
