Hello everybody,

A short question regarding my visa: I have a Non-Immigrant Visa (ED; multiply entry; I have studied in Bangkok), which expires on July 27.

Now, I am planning to pass the boarder to Myanmar for a one-day trip to the boarder town nearby Chian Rai at arount July 20.

When I enter Thailand again, will I get a (new) 30 days visa, which allows me to stay longer then until July 27 (the date my current visa expires) or do I still have to leave Thailand by July 27?

Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate it.

Do you have a multiple entry visa which requires you to leave the country every 90 days and your VISA expires 27th of july?

If it is a multiple ED-visa that expires on July 27th (not your permission to stay from immigration) you will get a fresh 90 days to stay in the country when you leave and re-enter Thailand before the 27th of July.So you have to leave Thailand 90 days after your last entry before the 27th.

It is a Non-Immigrant visa with re-entry permit, which is valid until July 27 (a student visa). I didn't have to leave the country every 90 days, just had to report my address to the immigration office every 90 days. Does that help?

That is a different story than. You have a permission to stay until the 27th. When you leave Thailand and re-enter again, you can still stay till the 27th of July. A border crossing would give you a maximum of 15 days, so a little bit more than the re-entry permit would. Only when you enter Thailand at an airport would you get 30 days, provided you qualify.

An option to get some more days would be to go to Vientiane (Laos) and apply for a double tourist visa there. They are free, although you need to pay for a visa for Laos. The double entry would give you 2 times 60 days. Each 60 day entry can be extended with 30 days for 1,900 baht.

Ah ok, I see.

I only need one until around the middle of August, which means, another 30 day visa would be ok. But I can't get this without leaving Thailand?

No, unless you continue your study.

If you leave Thailand on the 27th and return at a land border, you would get 15 days extra. If you fly in to Thailand you would get 30 days. Some budget airlines are very cheap.

Hi, i am confused about this posting as this advice looks in contra with the reply how follows, as i also have 1year non o E.D. visa MULTIPLE ENTRY ,must utilized before 30-12-2010 and issued 30-12-2009

I do NOT go for extension to immigration Jmtien, but doe my border run and receive always my 3 month stamp, so around 27 December (by calculation) and anyway before expiring off the 1 year non o E.D. i will do my last visa run,

WITCH stamp i will I receive ?, by your first answer this should be 3 months , but by the following answers i seems different depending point off views , land borders as i do now also or by air ?

In a former topic i receive from moderators the answer given= 3 months if visa run before expiring visa

PS the school talks about 14 months visa , other school claim until 15 months in total ,

I deliberately do not go Jomtien Immigration , because i would have to pay for re entry's an now thy are unlimited already payed in my visa fee, and i also would not like they "change' my visa by going there, so Farr at border no problems

sorry for long story but i would like to be complete

tTHX
