Hi, we are a group from Canada who would like to tour Thailand, we would like to make a mini festival really more than just a gig if we can and are allowed too.

How does a band on tour in Thailand get a visa? What are the kind of rules about it ?

The normal procedure for performing artists is that the promoter (organizer), which should be a Thai company, organizes a temporary work permit, valid for two weeks. In general this is a straight forward procedure, with very few requirements to be met.

Anything longer, and you'll need a normal work permit, for which you will have to be in the employ of a Thai company with certain requirements, such as 2 million Baht registered capital per work permit etc...
