Today at 2pm Dave passed away from what was apparently a heart attack.

Dave had been involved in a motorcycle accident (on his chopper) on the 12th June. Since that time he had been in hospital recovering from his injuries.

He had already been through two corrective operations and went into surgery yesterday for what should have been his last operation for the time being. He recovered well from this operation and was this morning and early this afternoon joking with his TGF and other friends. While Dave was surrounded by these people this afternoon he had what appeared to be a massive heart attack from which he did not recover.

Dave was to have traveled to England next week to see family and friends there.

One or more family members from the UK are expected to arrive in Songkhla in the next day or two at which time we will learn whether or not Dave will be cremated here or taken back to England.

Rest in Peace Dave.

The family has decided to have a traditional Buddhist funeral and cremation. Will post more details when I have them.

Dave's body will be taken to the Temple (Wat) on the main road from Songkhla to Hatyai, opposite to the soi that Dave and Luk's house is located. The water purification ceremony will be at around 4pm today (Thursday July 8) and as is custom, the body will remain in the temple and be attended until Monday when the cremation will take place.

All of Dave and Luk's friends and anyone else who would like to pay their respects are invited to attend.

RIP Dave......

Sorry folks, there has been an unforeseen delay, the Temple ceremony has been postponed. Will advise when I have new date and time.

Was not able to post yesterday as everything happened very quickly. The water purification ceremony was conducted yesterday (Friday) but the funeral continues until Monday when the cremation will take place. Dave's family is scheduled to arrive from the UK on Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend at the temple at anytime.
