RAZZELL Posted November 26, 2010 Share Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) Well, the gf got up at 5am (which must have been a struggle ) and was outside the VFS at 7.10am. She was second in the queue having booked online and was seen nearly straight away....and was out 45 minutes later after having her "fingers" done (biometrics). She said it wasn't as busy as the Summer. I guess it could be good for waiting times as the new "A1" Test rules might slow the number of applications. I am pretty certain that when we did the visitors visa last year we got 3 texts in total: 1 saying it had gone to the embassy; another saying it had come back; and another saying come and collect. Wasnt expecting to get them before Chirstmas so this has changed our plans. cross13180 Posted December 3, 2010 Share Posted December 3, 2010 My wife and step son applied for their uk settlement visa on the 05/11/10 and they received their visa yesterday 03/12/10, that's 4 weeks exactly. rhino10, I booked the flights here in the uk, I'm also not flying out there. The only mistake made in the visa application is she put down the 30/12/10 as the day she would like to travel to the uk. Now the visa has been issued the start date of the visa is 30/12/10, so I'm gutted now my wife, her son and our son (who I've never seen yet in person) won't be here for Christmas. Never mind, at least they got the visa and on the 02/01/11 they will be here! Cheers I only found out after my gf came in the Summer...but WestEastTravel can sell you a one-way ticket and you can pay in the UK with a credit card. I don't know how they get around the card holder having to be present with the "passenger" ???...shame...it would have saved me a few quid I phoned last week and they quoted me £412 BKK-LHR single on Thai, no "air miles", £450 with "air miles" flying on the 15th January. rhino10 Posted December 4, 2010 Share Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) My wife and step son applied for their uk settlement visa on the 05/11/10 and they received their visa yesterday 03/12/10, that's 4 weeks exactly. rhino10, I booked the flights here in the uk, I'm also not flying out there. The only mistake made in the visa application is she put down the 30/12/10 as the day she would like to travel to the uk. Now the visa has been issued the start date of the visa is 30/12/10, so I'm gutted now my wife, her son and our son (who I've never seen yet in person) won't be here for Christmas. Never mind, at least they got the visa and on the 02/01/11 they will be here!
