You can all address me as babasan. I just arrived in Bangkok two nights ago and went straight to Naravee clinic for Vaser Hi Def. The cost is US$ 6500 included everything (hospital stay for 7 days, the surgery, medications, food).

I arrived at the clinic at 730 in the morning and there is no other patient there yet. Naravee clinic I believed is the only clinic that offer Vaser Hi Def. Other hospitals or clinics like Yoskarn or SP only offer Vaser Liposelection. The difference can be sometimes confusing as both treatment focus on removing fat at particular site. But Vaser Hi Def has more specific feature which is to tighten the stomach and make it look like a six pack. So you don't only get a reduced version of fat around your abdominal, but also a muscular look.

Vaser Hi Def require more training and certification compared to Vaser Liposelection. if you check on Vaser Hi Def website, you'll see that in Thailand, only Naravee clinic is qualified to perform Vaser Hi Def.

The doctor looked at my abdomens and agree that only 1 litres of fat need to be removed but with the blood and other fluids it could amount to 2 litres removal. The surgery is not that scary. You basically had the pre op photo first, then some markings to the abdominal then the surgery. Before you ask, its the general anesthesia. So beware of the 6 hours fasting rule and forbidden medication consumption for 2 weeks. The doctors put on an oxygen mask on my nose and before you know it, i am asleep like a baby.

I woke up with as you can guess, huge pain like one thousand stings from bees. But that's not the real trouble. The hassle is the very tight compression garment around your abdominal to ensure the skin tightening for the 6 packs look. It's very uncomfortable. Not to mention the IV in your left hand and two tubes of blood for removing extra fluids from your abdominal. Before you wonder, the two tubes is meant to remove excess fluid leftover from the surgery. It has to be there for 3 days.

The first night after the surgery is excruciating because they put something on your penis so that you can pee while on bed. I begged for it to be removed because i can't pee while laying down. You can imagine the pain after holding the pee for hours. In any case, i asked them for a sleeping pill to go right back to sleep.

The next day doctor did a change in the dressings beneath the compression garment. It's a tedious work comprising 6-7 nurses assistance. You have to forget about the vanity or embarrassment from having your genitals looked at by the nurses. At this point in time, you only care about your occasional pain. For the rest of 6 days, i'll be stuck in this bed without any possibility of being discharged from the clinic earlier. I'm still on my 2nd day. I'll post more as time pass by.

It's my second day of recovery. It feels much better than after the surgery. I can practically stand, walk, even squat. The nurses here are attentive but they hardly speak any English. I have problems communicating with them but not about important stuffs. It's mostly conversation about what's for dinner, when do you change the bedsheet and all. The clinic has 2 Filipino employees who speak perfect English but they are only around from 9-5 everyday. So, to have them around can be very helpful especially when no one else speaks a language you can't understand. I am recovery pretty well, according to the doctor. The bruises are starting to disappear, although i still feel some discomfort from the tight compression garment. I am not allowed to take a shower as yet, probably after the 5th day. i was told that after seven days, pretty much everything would return to normal. I keep asking if this is true because as of now, i still feel a little pain just to walk. But the doctor is quite assuring with his judgment. The last patient who was here made it to an overseas flight after mere 7 days in the clinic for the same treatment. Just pray that i'll recover just as fast.

It has been over a week now and I was hoping to read a followup on how things went. Can you please write something more?

I am very interested in this procedure and looking for honest commentary.

Sounds cool. Compared to my surgery, it sounds easy. I too can not urinate while laying own even with the catheter! I just stood up, went, and got back in bed. Made to doctor angry, but the nurs (in the USA, not Thailand) would not listen. The tubes in the stomach are called drainage tubes and they help a lot. I will look in to this surgery, thank you

I'm sorry guys for keeping too much a gap since my last post. I was really drained by this surgery. The recovery is unlike anything that I ever experienced; not in the least resembling to even liposuction. You won't get the full six pack with clear indentation and lines before your 2 months recovery period is completed. Sometimes, when people say that I cheated for a six pack with vaser hi def, i wish i can give this treatment away for them.

On my third day, the doctor removed the dressing as usual. He said i heal faster than the other patients, possibly because of the good skin elasticity that i have. Not quite sure how that match up to the other patient though. But all i can say is that i don't smoke and drink alcohol, even hardly on occasional basis. Good recovery doesn't quite mean get prepared to be discharged from the clinic. I still need to stay for another 4 days until the stitches closed up and ready to be removed, which will happen on the 5th day. Now, as far as the surgery goes, i must say that the doctor in Naravee is up to par to the international standard. I heal pretty well, he gave me the service upholding to the details disclosed during the consultation. However, i must say i am quite disappointed with lack of information for the post-operation period. Now, i am not blaming Naravee solely for this. I've done my research. I discovered that in many other clinics in Singapore, they too have failed in detailing what the recovery period would entail. If I remember correctly, there was one forum thread in singpaporeexpat about a patient who had blood leaking from the belly button flowing to the groin. Apparently, the doctor of whom he had the surgery from did not put a drainage tube. Vaser hi-def doctors also fail to mention anything about experiencing slight to moderate discomfort ont the first three days after the surgery. By this i meant that they did not inform us about patients requiring physical assistance to improve mobility. You need to call the nurse to get you to the toilet, you need to permanently sleep with a supine position throughout the night, you even need to ask the nurse to help you up to sip a drink. After three days, things would start to get better and you might be able to go solo for some menial moves. But back to my point again, doctors still need to inform us all the details about the post-op period. To say that Vaser hi def is new and some patients may respond differently during the post-op period (i.e. some patient can help themselves up on their first day) is not an excuse for the failure to disclose such information.

On my fourth day, the same routine kept up. The dressing kept being changed once a day. On this day, i complained that the dressing was too tight and that the bed was taking its toll on my back. Naravee can't do anything about the bed. The marketing staff told me that they had ordered a new bed, but won't be there anytime soon. But the dressing did got loosened up. I realized that its not about the degree of pressure imposed by the dressing that is central for creating indentation to your healing abs. It's actually about the pressure. That means as long as your abs sustain sufficient pressure (doesn't have to be too compressing), it's enough.

I can talk long and wide about the strength and weakness about Naravee. But i'll tell you all the good stuffs first. As far as the surgery goes, i think you are in good hand. The doctors are talented, the nurses experienced, and the staffs helpful. You won't find any problems about the surgery as far as getting your money worth is concern. They''ll even give you extra services for extended hospitalized stay, free snacks, and laundry requests. The twist in all those free stuffs is their lack of management. Before you folks start to think that i am steering you into business presentation, rest assured that i'm not. Naravee has good doctors, they just don't have good manager. Most nurses don't speak English, you'd be bored to death by the lack of homy facilities during your stay, the TV has only 2 english speaking broadcast, and the internet is unstable. I'll post more about this next time.

Hint on the bed: There is nothing anyone can do for the hardness of a hospital bed and the other discomforts from it too. It's just the way hospital beds have to be in case there is an emergency. Even a new bed would not help much. Sorry.

I wouldn't even for the slightest moment think about complaining had it not been for the fact that Bumrungrad stood apart for its excellent standard. It's mattress is unparalleled to Naravee's. You feel like you are sleeping in a hotel while recovering. One thing this bed makes you feel as a patient is the way your psychology tricks you into perceiving that your recovery is just like another day at home. Then again, you won't know how bad the bed in Naravee is until you get to lay on it 16 hours a day. Trust me, I did weight trainings on my back, Naravee;s bed will still take a toll on you.

Hey

I am glad that you are happy with the whole process but it does really seems a bit challenging to me

I hope you do not mind me talking about my own experience as it would be silly to open a similar thread

I underwent the same procedure on July the 5th (not here). It is roughly the same:

1) Blood and ECG tests

2) It lasted some five or six hours (I had upper/lower bleph, forehead and nasolabial folds surgywire, fat transfer)

3) I woke up around 11pm and stayed bedded all night but was unable to sleep because of chest pain. I held until 2 am and eventually called the nurses as I had a great difficulty to breathe; they acted promptly and released a bit the "harness" as it was much too tight

4) I think I was able to doze off until 6 or 7 in the morning spending the night and most of the following day urinating (my friend was staying with me in the room so I just had to ask for the pot) I have no problem doing it while I am lying down: this means that the lower part of my body was not strapped in any way

5) At 10 am I asked for some food (although not hungry I felt it was necessary for me to have something to eat after 36 hours of fast)

6) I left the clinic at noon on July the 6th

7) I had to go back to the clinic every day to change the dressing (only one nurse) and on the third day (I hear it is normal) the tubes were removed . On Wednesday I started a five day ultrasound therapy which helps tightening the skin and alleviate the itching

8) On the following Monday I left the country (no more harness but I have yo keep a light compressing garment for a month)

From the point of view of the pain; none whatsoever; itching was quitre bothersome (and the last thing to to is to scratch). When the harness was removed it was a bit painful to sleep on the side and one has to find the right position but now it is much better

I will be able to exercise in about two weeks (when I am not wearing the garment anymore)

I am not sure how much fat was removed ( but I gues about 3 to 4 liters as they have kept a liter or so for eventual fat transfer in the future and my firnd told me that two more containers had been discarded)

I have lost two sizes but should stress that the weight did not go down that much (but as you said it takes six months to get the final result)

And to give you an idea of the result.(not impressive changes at first but if you zoom them....)... the first pix is the day prior to the intervention. Tthe other one was taken last Sunday (two weeks after)

Hello,

I had Vaser Hi Def on my abdominals at Navaree last month. The procedure was pretty simple, I was able to see the six pack directly after surgery but the swelling got worse and it disappeared. In two days, I had the stitches removed and was on an international flight back to the US. I still had some drainage, so I had to have an absorbent pad but other than that the procedure was awesome. I am now 4 weeks post op and it is getting alot better, the abdominals are starting to come out slowly, just like if I was working out so it looks like a normal progression. The doctor did not use a drain or anything just let the fluid drain by itself. the only advice I would give someone is if you plan on leaving in a short time after surgery, get some depends male diapers to catch the draining. I know it sounds crazy, but it will benefit you greatly later. Also, I would purchase a quality surgical compression garment to wear after surgery. I had a dual procedure gyno and Vaser abdominal so I purchased a garment that would help both areas. I have found two good links for you to order from if you chose they are the following: http://www.thesurgerystore.com/compression_garment/abdominalchestnozipper.htm and http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product.do?id=33302

You can also just google surgical compression garment and alot will come up. I like these better than the wrap they they gave at the hospital theya are easier to put on by yourself, and it helps if you have them right after surgery. Let me know if you have any specific questions, i hope this helps.

[Hey

Sorry to ask but are you for real ?

You really sound like you are advertising

In my case I was given the garment that I had to keep for a month

It is also amazing how the 6 packs seem to have ade its way through without any help

I do have the six packs but , trust me, it has been 7 months since I underwent surgery, and every single day in the gym for the past 6 months to get the shape

I am down to 67 kg from 75 Kgs but I do watch what I am eating (most of the time)

Have you got any pix?
