This is great for Argentina, but as a US American, also kind of depressing. Argentina had their president behind this. The US has the most progressive president in my lifetime, and yet even he isn't in favor of legalizing gay marriage. Yes, I know, bad politics for him, but still depressing.

Argentinian gay marriage is the real deal, including adoption rights.

On the face of it, it certainly seems to go much further than the Civil Partnership passed this week in the Irish Parliament. Well done Argentina!!

This is interesting. A graphic showing the numbers of people living in "freedom" countries which recognize gay marriage. I don't agree that the USA should be included at all, though this graphic does. State marriage in the US is almost meaningless legally without federal recognition.

Yes, I think the US has their place in that stat. Compare it to the other countries.

Note that Thailand is not included. While I consider it one of the most tolerant countries in the acceptance of gay relationships, a civil partnership is not even being discussed.
