July 1, 200521 yr some of the thai guys here (god only knows why, i dont dye my hair) want to dye their hair red (like the henna the israeli women do)... we tried twice with natural henna but it doesnt really come out red... how do thai women dye their hair ?? do they peroxide first, or are there brands (clairol, et al) that work on black (fuzzy issaan man's longish hair, not silky smooth ) ?? they dont want carrot red, i guess the deep red are there thai brands especially for this (like black afro hair type products for instance_) Edited July 2, 200521 yr by penzman
July 2, 200521 yr I have seen boxes here for Asian hair, so yes, they do have it. Clairol or L'oreal, can't be sure. Don't know how well it works tho. They could end up with orange hair!

July 2, 200521 yr Author thanx both of u thats what i suspected also-- the peroxide bit... probably the clairol stuff has it all mixed so like a two step thing.... last time they did aubergine/deep purple blue which looked brilliant on the guys with silky hair but not so good on the guys with the more laos type hair (thick and coarse like a horses tail) is this common (dyeing hair) among city guys also (not punk style peroxides, but all over colour?)
July 2, 200521 yr never known any younger thai guys dying their hair (some older guys with short hair, yes) but would really discourage then from doing it as peroxide is so damaging to black hair & the outgrowth would be awful.

You still see some around, but more red tones nowadays. How about highlight on just the tips for the course hair type - it can work well using reddish tone.....
July 2, 200521 yr one of the nephews dyes his fringe red...he is a disrespectful 16 year old punk (in the pejorative sense) and no longer welcome in our house...
July 3, 200521 yr Author meadish: 55555 well, my daughter bought the green henna (which dyes hair red) and we did the mixture (egg, henna, olive oil, and water), put on hair and had the guy sleep all night with shower cap -- no real red , the next day, did again on ends, they came out slightly rusty coloured... dont know whly since on yemen and mnorrocan hair types (similar coarse blackish/dark brown) the henna works well..... peroxide definate no no all these guys seem to like to dye their hair, even redying it raven black , the minute they see a grey hair....when they see a grey hair in my alpaca type tresses, they pull it out (ouch!).... will check out the clairol type things the thing is, some of the guys grow their hair out from the time they come to israel until they go home, like marking the passage of time... so outgrowth would be awful; others, when drunk at parties, suddenly use the #2 on the hair clippers, so proper hair care is not in vocab....
