The webcast doesn't function in this part of the third world.

Madonna is now on her way back to her Castle in her Bentley.

By the way, to other Third Worlders out there. ....Whilst Europeans like to have these sing songs in your honour, they don't actually want you to go there, claim asylum and live in the next door house.

That's right Moog... if we make it better for them in their own country, they won't want to come "there"/here and live :o

Well said Moog, I'd like to know how much these superstars personally donated and lets not here all the hundred grand crap (if they donated that), lets see some real sums of money, Macartneys a billionaire, surely 10 million out of his own pocket will not effect his life much if he feels so strongly about the cause.

Ah but I forgot, they donated their time didn't they, how very nice and generous of them. :o:D

I just heard 'Snoop Doggy Dogg' on the radio chanting -

'Put your hands in the air Motherfuc*ers'

Why does he have to say that? Its not necessary. He's a very cheekie darkie.

What about Bill Gates? Should he be criticised also? He has donated $500 million.

(If you didn't see it he appeared on stage, introduced by Sir Bob G. around 15.00 GMT.)

Cheer up Moogs (even tho you're right;) I'm lovin' this event! (now typing since some rapper is onstage rapping the typical rap message to everyone which is apparently he's da man) :o

We started out at Gullivers and at first they said they wouldn't put it on (tennis and F1 qualifying only) :D Eventually talked them into putting it on one TV and a small crowd gathered, then they put it on a few more screens and then almost every screen and finally with the audio on throughout the joint!

Missed the beginning (cartoons as UBC was fiddling with the feed) but caught Elton absolutely rockin' in London with Saturday Night's alright (my youthfull anthem;). Thought Keane was pure inspiration, brilliant performances! Black eyed Peas ripped it up with "let's get it started", Steve and Rita Marley were pretty cool too. Duran Duran were tops with Wild Boys especially (ok, I'm old school;) and finally (to this minute as Ah ha is now on) never been a huge fan of Madonna but gotta give the gal some grits- Ray of light was hi energy and on the mark, also, it may be innapropriate but the "before and after" girl from Ethipoia brought onstage by Geldolf was an absolute stunner, in any language :D

Ok, nuff said (too much;) back to the show... :D

PS, still say gotta eradicate corruption, collusion and nepotism first, for all this to work...

I'd be happy if the Rock Stars just lobbied to get the price of their CDs down to a hundred baht in lesser-developed countries.

Thats within their influence.

Its not their duty to tell you overtaxed UK taxpayers to send more money so that my ex Business Partner in Indonesia can intercept and steal it, (and trust me he does) and send his wife shopping to Tiffanys.

yeah moog...chill out mate.....sit back and enjoy the music and vibe....

at least we are trying to do something about the problems of this world....

instead of contributing to them, unlike some hypocrites..ahem....funding the prostitution of poor girls in thailand for one!!!!

Oh I am :o

Sitting here listing it on BBC radio online, waiting to do the 3 am feed.

If only i'd stayed in UK for another week I could have gone to Eden for the nig nog show.

I reckon Michael Jackson will make an appearance on stage before the evening is out.

Hey Thomas, good point. Bill (in recent years) seems to have stepped up a bit, realising "the one who dies with the most toys" isn't the probable winner. I was surprised by the relatively warm reception he received tho...

This just in, the "new" B52's (Scissor Sisters; on now) with Take Your Mama Out were great! :o

Is Thailand one of the only country's in the world not showing it??other than pay for view.

Its not on terrestrial television. I just had another look.

Usual diet all evening of katoey game shows.

In fairness, are Thais interested in Bob Geldof and Paul McCartney?

I hope some charity money finds its way to Indonesia, if it does I can go back and resume my residency at the bar in the Shangri-La.

No money is being raised,sorry.

I was watching it in a bar till they throw me out and the Thais where loving it.They have all heard of Snoopy Dog,Black Eyed Peas, etc..

Wonder if powers to be were more than happy to have it only on UBC.

Should have been free for Thais to watch, and raise their awareness of what goes on in the world.

Where's the Professor,Do you still think this will soon be forgotten

I was listening a few weeks ago on radio 2 about charities and how much you should give. I dont subscribe to this philosophy but apperntly 10% of your take home pay is the average donation, now if all these pop stars donated 10% of their earnings there would be no 3rd World :o

Or in their own country (count the mercs that came from global bank bailouts here in '97 whilst regular folks struggle on and are forced to repay this "public debt"). My eyes are slamming shut so that's all I'll see of this amazing event tonight. Footnote, just wasn't the same without Freddy singing Radio gaga... :o
