July 3, 200521 yr In uk every business that uses a code has they own key. The key is nine or ten characters and is usually one or two words so that it is easy to remember. Example : code = new prices n=1 e=2 w=3 etc, etc There is no reason why you cannot put some numbers in there A universal code would be unwelcome as all your competitors could walk into your shop and read off your cost prices.
July 3, 200521 yr Hmmm, tornado. Some codes are letters only. Dont worry George he is just talking out his bum arent you shirley? just to get his posts up
July 3, 200521 yr George, The trick is to go into the shop and make a note of which symbols the shop uses for their price code. Then use an AZ Scrabble Word Finder to get the word used as the code. It is explain here: http://www.cockeyed.com/lessons/tags/tags.html
July 3, 200521 yr Interesting. What's the purpose of this secret code? To make inventory or dealing on the spot easier?

July 3, 200521 yr What's the purpose of this secret code? To make inventory or dealing on the spot easier? Yes it is a legacy really and not needed today if you have computers. You can talk to a customer and do a bulk deal without having to go and check your buying in price. I used to use one a long, long time ago. It also shows the cost price of that actual item and not the current price.
