Please be advised that all government offices, including immigration, will be closed coming Monday 26 July and Tuesday 27 July because of the Buddhist Lent.

People needing to go to immigration might want to go tomorrow, to avoid a crowd on Friday and Wednesday.

Remember:

extensions can always be done up to 30 day in advance and will start on the day your current permission to stay ends, so you don't lose any days.

If your last day of a permission to stay is on a day immigration is closed, immigration will not fine for overstay provided you visit immigration the first day they are open after your permission to stay expired.

EDIT:

This also applies to Thai embassies and consulates. They will be closed as well, as they normally follow the Thai holidays as well as the holidays of the country they are located in. Check their website to be sure.

Best to check their website.

Edit: to make it more clear I have adjusted the original post.

Am not sure what you are talking about. This is a forum post and has nothing to do with being directed to you. It is a general notice that was posted on the 21st for those that read the forum. It was not a PM to you.

Thank you for that.

My passport has a stamped and signed form "to notify again on 26 JUL 2010"

Wouldn't you think... no, perhaps not.

Anyway, thanks again for the apt warning.

Government is closed on 27th, not sure about banks.

Immigration has the following anouncement on their website: Announce! Immigration Division will be closed during on 24th - 27th July,2010.

Banks by law can not close more than three consecutive days. They are often open on holidays. Makes it very hard to know what is a holiday and what is not as most calendars are bank produced.
