Euro 4 diesel is available in Thailand - "Shell V-Power Diesel" is the only one so far though

Additionally, "Shell Helix Ultra Extra" is a Euro 4 engine oil available in Thailand. Note the "extra" though "Shell Helix Ultra" is only Euro 3.

As for nearest VW service center to you, call VW Thailand on: 02 214 2521-7

Hi I know this model Seat and it is a great car.

The Vag-com software and interface is an after-market system, it is used more for interdependent VW/Audi specialists, and is inexpensive to buy and use for knowledgeable enthusiasts.

Details here:

http://www.ross-tech.com/

You can buy copy Vag com Leads (OBDII to computer USB) and use the Vag com software to make it work.

A VW Main dealer would be using the original VW/Audi diag software that would not be available to general public.

I would guess you are quite correct about the bad diesel causing your problems, the ideal way of sorting this would be to get the engine re-mapped to suit the Thai diesel. If you were in the UK I could recommend this guy:

http://www.vagcheck....check/index.htm

He has done a great job remapping one of my Audi's, more power and more economy. He is really helpful but of course you are not in the UK, so finding someone who could remap you ECU as required in Thailand may prove to be a problem. Maybe other members could point you in the right direction, but I think you would be lucky to find a VW main dealer with the knowledge to do a remap. You don't want an amateur remapping your ECU, you could have serious problems including blowing the engine or turbo if they don't know what they are doing.

Another idea is to try and find a suitable diesel additive to improve the actual diesel to suit the European standard ECU map. Maybe the poster who modifies and drag races diesel pickups would know a suitable additive?

Good luck

cheers

Euro 3 diesel (as used in TH by all but Shell V-Power) has 7 times more sulphur than Euro 4 (350 ppm vs 50 ppm), and Euro IV engines have particulate filters that Euro III engines don't have, and they clog up fast if you use the wrong fuel. There's nothing the ECU (or any of the electronic controlled systems e.g. EGR) can do about this.
