How To Change Ip Address?

running windows 2000.

use a routeur and a static IP that you can change from time to time :o

set the routeur as a dhcp and set your com with a static one with the routeur address as a gateway, just set it out of the dhcp range.

get your dns adress, typing in the run command :ipconfig /all

and you'll get all you need, gateway, dns and your present IP ...

the set the routeur accordingly :D

dhcp, IP from 192.168.x.100 to 192.168.x.254 and set the static IP out of this range like 192.168.x.15.

ps: works for me with xp sp2 and linux manndriva 2005, no problem:)

and you can forward port if you use p2p :D

hope that it helps a bit :D

Which IP address do you want to change??

The local address of your PC or the address that the rest of the world sees you at when using the internet?

Local IP is easy. right click on your network connection, status, properties, TCP/IP properties. Select 'use this IP address' and put something suitable in.

If you want to change your global IP, forget it. You CAN buy a fixed IP address from your ISP, but you CANNOT change it as and when you wish.

You can hide your 'real' IP address using an anonymous proxy, handy if you need to appear to be in a country other than where you are actually located. There are even some legitimate reasons for wanting to do this :o

As others have said, exactly WHY do you want to do this?? You will get better solutions if we know this vital bit of information.

hi'

there is one number that you can't change unless you bind it to another one(meaning that you know this before..), is the MAC address, the physical address of your machine.

you may bind it with some routeur, but the fact is that your public IP can be known, the only way to hide it is to go through a proxy as crossy said.

never forget that one knows your IP for sure is your ISP.

and if you want to hide yourself for good it might not be for such a good purpose, there are ways to do it, and there we enter another world ...

you can learn a lot here : http://www.astalavista.box.sk/ ...

be careful and be wise :o

your reason is yours ... it's not my business, do as you like :D

a lot of peope using the web have good reasons wanting to be anonymous.
