The Mrs and her sisters have been looking for a house to buy and it seems in this area there are no real estate agents so looking for something to buy has been a matter of going round all the soi's and looking for "for sale signs"

Was wondering what was involved in setting up a real estate business in TL?

Know at home there are all sorts of hoops to jump through.

Where ever there are westerners there are estate agents ....... but im guessing there is no regulation whatsoever and all you need is a website ..... if in bkk go on prakard.com claim to be an agent and ask people if you can market their property then advertise it on ccraiglist or here simple as that to get going.

Thai's don't generally do real estate agents cause they don't do second hand things. Houses being second hand and all, their price in Thailand generally falls in real terms, and if they are put up for sale, stay on the market forever.

just take a peak at some of the realestate on the TV sponsors website (say Soho property). Lots of stuff there that has been up for at least 2 to 3 years.

Thatll have to change one day as they cant build endless condos in the prime areas, the infrastructure if you can call it that just cant accommodate them.

But there are plenty of Thais using agencies to rent out property and shift their new build apartments theyre trying to flip.

Yes, real estate in the falang sector is a booming business these days. Sellers mak mak, buyers nid noy.

Put your money in the bank or open a lemonade stand.
