As all of us that grow pigs know a large percentage of our costs are on pig feed. I have read about Betagro and their feed seem to have the right nutrients etc at a very reasonable price.

The trouble is there is NO supplier in or around Udon Thani, if somebody knows otherwise could they let me know as we have searched high and low.

Betagro has an office in Udon and we went to ask there, they gave us a contact number and lo and behold their contact told us nobody uses it so they don't stock it. This seems to be a large business however they don't supply to any farms in or around Udon, why is this?. I am baffled and any help would be muchly appreciated.

If we can't source betagro any other suggestions would be appreciated as at the moment we are using nutrena with excellent results however a little pricey. I don't mind paying more if we get the desired result faster than the cheaper alternative but we are new to this so we are going to try different pigs with different feeds to ascertain which feed is the most financialy viable.

All suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated.

My experience with a feedstore in Chiang Mai,

is that their Laemtong brand of bagged feeds undercuts all competing brands.

I am happy to refer you to the English and Thai speaking husband / wife owners

if you'd like to PM.

Secondly,

I predict the local Mae Sot Betagro dealer would love to ship you a truckload to Udon

Third

As my seasonal abundance happens at the various harvest times,

I'm happy to ship you truck at a time of the bulk grain products that I feed my hogs

from a local small granary.

They are small comparative to the really big granaries,

but have far more than I can consume all year.

I feed almost no feedmill bagged feeds,

only a little starter formula and some protein concentrate,

depending almost entirely on

corn sheller chaff,

mung bean broken and undersize,

soybean whole,

and of course, if necessary,

full kernel yellow corn

As I mentioned recently in another thread,

there are local anomalies in the bulk feed supply,

which if farmers in the various regions keep information floating,

we all can benefit from the best deals of the season.

It means purchasing amounts to make the truck transport feasible.
