Hi,

i have been staying in Thailand over 5 years now on Non-Imm ED visa and about to complete my master degree in coming months, i have got the job and need the work permit. i already talked to the company people regarding this and they seems to be fine providing me the work permit. the only thing is that they dont have the VAT registration as they are exempt from this because of they dont earn a certain amount required to have the VAT. other than that all the other documentations are fine and ready. so my question to my fellow friends is that , can we still apply for the work permit? i will be the only foreigner working in the company. your advice will be deeply appreciable.

Thanks

Your employer should go ahead and apply for your work permit.

No problem getting a work permit.

Bigger problem to get extension of stay based on employment if no VAT paid.

My friends solves this with multiple non-B from KL every 15 months and border dashes every 3 months.

And I always thought that registration to VAT is mandatory for a company that sponsors Work Permits? So, this is only an Immigration rule for getting an extension of stay?

My understanding its the extension of stay that will be the issue

I have a WP and my company pays no VAT.
