Hello guys.

Upon receiving a Multi Entry Non Immigrant O or an OA visa from a Consulate outside of Thailand, how long do I have to enter Thailand? For example, do I have to arrive within the first ninety days?

I am an American Citizen but I am retired and I have lived in Panama for the last five plus years. I will obtain either the O or the OA here in Panama, spend a few weeks in the States and then head for Thailand.

Thanks

Harry

Thank you PeteThailand, that is really good to know.

1 year from the date of issue, you can enter & stay a max of 90 days as many times as you want

As said valid for one year if multi entry and O will provide 90 day stay(s) and O-A one year stay(s).

Related followup to OP's question concerning Non-Imm O-A multi-entry visa: when is it that you always have to obtain a Re-entry Permit when coming and going? Is it during the period when the permission to stay stamp is active (but after the visa has expired)? Which is what I was thinking. Or always, even during the one-year visa period? Thanks so much.

A multi entry non immigrant O-A visa does not require a re-entry permit during the validity of the visa (one year from date of issue as printed on visa). For any return later than that date a re-entry permit would be required.

Hello....on this note, my multi type b expires 12-10. are you saying i could go to immigration on 12 - 1 and get a single entry re-entry permit, fly back to usa on 12-15 and return to thailand on 1-29-11 and be granted a 90 day stay......without having to appy for a new multi type b back at my thai consulant in miami. No I am not saying that - I am saying the O-A visa gets a one year permitted to stay on any entry - so if you make an entry just before expiration you will have another year permitted to stay but an invalid visa. So at that time you obtain a re-entry permit to keep that stay alive.

A re-entry permit never adds time to a stay - it just keeps your current permitted to stay until time alive.
