Hi,

Currently most of new cars can use Gasho 95, Gasho 91 (Gasho seems to be a local terminology for eco-friendly fuels) etc.

and I've no idea which is most economic/efficient to use comapring "cost vs mileage" for driving in a city.

I used 91 for a while but then moved to 95 for long considering that it has higher octane number,

although a few satangs more expensive than 91.

Any expert view..

regards

Rana

You can Google this and read it from many sources. Buying higher octane fuel than your can needs is a complete waste of money. 91 gasohol will run just as well and produce the same economy in an engine that is designed to use it as 95 will. You might find that the red pump 91 regular gasoline will give you better mileage than the 91 gasoline/alcohol mix will, but it costs substantially more.

Look at the label on the fill tank door, the fuel the manufacturer recommends is best. Also you would do much better using the cheapest proper fuel then using the money you save to buy the best quality synthetic oil you can get. That will do your car more good.

My 2008 Accord 2,4 i tryed and measured all approved fuels, 91 petrol, 95 petrol, 91 gasohol E10, 95 Gasohol E10 and E20. 70k km mostly on highway I found 95 gasohol E10 most cost efficient without having less power than others

BTW gasohol is the name of petrol blended with Ethanol, E10 is 10%, E20 is 20% and E85 is 85% Ethanol

Seems Gasohol 95 leads the race and if so,I've a been a bit fortunate as it's the one I've used regularly since last year.

Rest, I am still unclear about 95 Gasohol "E10 and E20". I guess E10 stands for Gasohol 95 and E20 stands for Gasohol 91?

You mean at the gas filling station, I can choose from two varieties of 95 Gasohol---E10 or E20?

yes, in and around Bangkok most gas stations have Gasoline E10 and E20, and some have E85, all 95 Octane and the E indicates how many percent Ethanol is blended in, IOW E20 is 20% Ethanol

Gasohol is also available as 91 Octane
