Can I apply for my retirement visa in Pattaya even if my address is in the Buriram area? I think it would be a great excuse for coming to Pattaya if it is to sign in or renew visa.

so the thing to do when u first apply is pick where u wnat to be every 12 months as NO supportiung doucment about where u live is required to show.

You only write ur addrress on the apllication so just tell them u moved. :whistling:

Supporting document are indeed required for proof of residence at many offices and believe this is strictly enforced in Pattaya.

Likely even more strictly enforced after reading this thread ...

"Supporting document" Hopefully means something as simple as a pre-paid hotel bill for what ever long term stay while geting settled-in or a 30-60-90 day, 3-6-9 month or 1 yr rental agreement copy? Eh? I've read some threads about having to provide pictures of the applicants living quarters? ... I'm still fuzzy on that part?

TIA for any input

I have brought my lease agreement with me every time I go to immigration, but as my address hasn't changed in years and I can write my address in front of them by memory, they never ask or want to look at it. Plus, they seem to know me at the Phuket office and it takes me at the most 10 minutes to do my 90 day checkin. To do your one year visa extension, you need a bit more paper work. So, what are you talking about exactly? A visa extension or what? An O-A visa is for retirement, not for tourism. I have heard of having to provide a map of where you live, but again, I've never been asked for that either. I have never lived in a hotel with an O-A visa, so I guess I can't give you an answer, since I'm unsure of your question... But in any case you can be required to show your rental agreement for your 90 day permit to stay or your one year extension.

People have used a letter with current address and have been asked for a one year lease agreement/personal witness statements. It varies from place to place and expect even more on officials perception of the applicant.

I have been getting my Retirment extension for 8 years now here in Phuket, Have never had to show where i lived or prove anything, Go in/fill out the application, stamp, get multi enrty permit 30 minutes at most if they are not busy.

Only time i had to show where i ived is when i applied for my drivers license ( now only once every 5 years)

90 day only showed my passport and copies of.

I will be allowing my extension to laspse as will be out of the country for 14 months but will come back with a Type O, reason to visit family and then reapply for returment extension but will be doing it out of Bangkok using my friends house adress .

I just got a new retirement extension a couple weeks ago at Cholburi (Pattaya) Immigrations, and no proof of address was required. Perhaps they still have some document in my file from years ago and can see I'm still using the same address? <shrug>

Now that I think about it, they dropped one or two documents I used to sign with the senior officer who sits behind the fellow at Desk #6. She used to ask me if I rented or owned (I own), and then I had to sign some form that was entirely in Thai. (Maybe two forms? I can't recall now.)

I know there have been recent threads here about those forms being used at Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok, and in fact, some member here somehow got copies of them.

However, two weeks ago, at Cholburi Immigrations, I didn't sign any such form, nor was I asked about my condo.
