Looking around I see forums for language, religion, various sports, food, even farming(!), but no music forum!!! I have been trying to put together an itunes playlist of morlam/lukthung for my girlfriend's parties (mostly isaan people), but it is nearly impossible to find up-to-date information on contemporary thai music without being able to read and write thai (working on that, but progress is slow).

These are the only good english language articles I could find:

http://www.stickmanweekly.com/ReadersSubmissions2009/reader4875.htm

http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/ReadersSubmissions2010/reader5795.htm

So, any mods out there that would be open to creating a new forum? It would be greatly appreciated by myself, and I'm sure a few others as well.

the guys name is , snook singmart.

if your interested just try punching in morlam or r-siam and grammy into youtube and you should get a good collection of well known artists. anyone from jintarla poonlar, siriporn um phai pong, phai porn sa thon, dai oratai, takatan churada, god jakapan and many others.

and depending on where you are in the LOS you can usually find a club or two especially in isaan or bangkok that plays this kind of music, morlam or tawangdeng establishments.

I don`t know anything about itunes, but I know how you can get these songs onto your computer. Then maybe you can put the songs into itunes from your computer?

Do a search on Utube. You will probably find most of the songs you are seeking on there.

Download a free programme called Audio Grabber. This is easy to use. It records and saves any songs you can find on line

You can save the songs as wav files or MPG then do whatever you need to do to put them onto itunes.

I think I may just give my girlfriend 1000 baht and send her to the CD shop. :)
