What'S The Fare On The Sukhumvit Big Buses

Featured Replies

I'm not talking about baht buses, but the full-sized (usually) blue and white big buses with things like "Cholburi Pattaya Maptaput" or "Bangkok Pattaya Rayong" on the side.

This month I've been making frequent trips between Bangkok Hospital Pattaya and Jomtien, and I wonder what the fare would be like say, from the bus stop across Sukhumvit from BHP to Tesco Lotus by Thepprasit.

What about from further down Sukhumvit, like the Ambassador or Soi Chaiyapruek to BHP?

Depends on how far you go. I think the minimum fare is about 20 baht.

I too have been told that the minimum fare on these is 20 baht.

.

Another easy way to get from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya to Jomtien is to walk the small Soi that runs in front of BHP, about 3 blocks ( turn right ) to the bus station on Pattaya Nua ( or take a motorbike-taxi for 20 Baht ), then catch the "express" Baht-bus that goes to Jomtien for 30 Baht.

They leave as soon as they're full - usually from 10 to 20 minutes and generally don't stop to pick up additional passengers.

.

Do the orange buses still run along Sukhumvit?

I can't remember seeing one for a while now, I used to hop on them to Sri Racha and Bang Saen years ago.

So, it should be B20 from roughly across the street from Bangkok Hospital-Pattaya to Tesco Lotus by Thepprasit?
