Bombs explode every 24 hours and the Thais are worried about top level police job shuffle between Dumb and Dumber and Dumbasss.

OT. Do the morons think the Saudis will be happy seeing the killer cop becoming Inspector General of the Police?

To us that actually follow the news here, it pretty amazing some of the things I read! You couldn't make some of this stuff up! The truth here is truly stranger than fiction!

Bomb blast in Bangkok wounds three people: police

BANGKOK (AFP) -- A small bomb hidden in a rubbish bin exploded in a residential area of Bangkok on Friday wounding three people, the latest in a series of blasts to rattle the Thai capital, police said.

"The explosion occurred around 5:00 pm (1000 GMT) today," said Police Lieutenant Colonel Sompol Phantapiban, confirming the incident was caused by a bomb in the city's southeast.

"The bomb was placed in a rubbish bin in front of shophouses," he added.

He told AFP that three people suffered minor injuries and had been taken to a local hospital, while the police were still investigating the cause of the attack.

A series of grenade blasts have hit Bangkok in recent weeks, as the capital remains under emergency rule following mass "Red Shirt" protests in April and May that left 91 people dead in clashes between troops and demonstrators.

The Reds -- who held peaceful gatherings Sunday to mark the anniversary of the 2006 coup that ousted their hero Thaksin Shinawatra as premier -- deny any involvement in the blasts.

Earlier this month, police defused three unexploded bombs discovered in Bangkok and surrounding suburbs over a matter of hours, one of them in front of a school and one in a shopping mall.

The finds raised further doubts over the speed at which emergency rule can be lifted in the Thai capital and prompted opposition accusations of a government conspiracy in an attempt to justify greater powers for authorities.

The unexploded bombs followed five grenade blasts in previous weeks which left one dead and 13 injured and unnerved Bangkok residents still recovering from the political unrest.

Three wounded in small bomb explosion in Bangkok

BANGKOK: -- Another in a series of explosions jarred homeward bound Bangkok commuters late Friday afternoon, the first to take place during the rush hour, adding to the sense of unease that the blasts that have jarred the Thai capital recently.

Three passersby were injured -- two schoolgirls and an older man --by the small explosion, an apparently intentional bomb hidden in a trash bin on Rama 3 Road, Soi 29, a crowded residential area with a number of factories.

Police said the initial investigation found a standard large green plastic trash bin demolished in front of a home. The explosion, which occurred during rush hour around 5pm, injured two girl students who were passing by.

They suffered only minor injuries and were sent to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital.

The explosion also injured a 53 year old man, bruising his chest and an arm. He was sent to Lerdsin Hospital and is under the close watch of doctors.

The police had not yet determined what type of explosive was involved, and are investigating its cause.

Pol Gen Wichean Potephosree said the Rama 3 Road bombing incident a personal conflict, not related to political situation. He had ordered checkpoints to step up security around Bangkok. (MCOT online news)

It's a very sensitive time right now.

If the gov can't bring it under control until the end of October, the usual time-line, then it can be getting really serious, something that never has happened before (in a negative sense).

Times are tough and the economical distress will add fuel to the fire.

When I consider my neighborhood, which was a great place and still is to some extent, then things look not good. New neighbors, young people, living together in hordes, drinking all night and sleeping all day. Were does the money come from? Apart from maintaining their motorbikes and fancy cars one wonder how this pays up. 3 weeks ago one of the guys got a gun delivered by a couple on a motorbike. The girl full with jewelery (I witnessed this when I passed by). It seems as things are getting prepared for some more troubles to come.

Be cautious! - at least.

Pray tell. Where is your neighborhood, Tombstone? Please let us know, so I'll be sure not to drop by. Will send a bullet proof vest instead.

no worries, there are still great neighbors left who have it under check. In overall and since this is not an isolated development I think it's better to be more cautious. It's not a game.

Hopefully a small bomb might distract people from the real news today about the Editor of the Prachathai website being arrested at Suvarnabhumi when she returned from the 'Internet at Liberty' conference in Hungary.

That's quite a subtle idea - a cunning plan but maybe too subtle for those in control.

On the other hand regular small bombings are a perfect excuse for maintaining a firm grip on the security issue - using the state of emergency law whenever it suits the powers that be.

As we're at it (speculating that is) how about this recent bomb being related to

- Somkid named police inspector general

- Pojaman's Ratchadapisek land deal nullified

- Appeals Court's ruling in lawyer Somchai's murder case postponed

- DSI aims for masterminds in the Somchai Neelaphaijit case

- Jatuporn threatens street protest against amnesty

- Chaovarat cleared of share-holding charges

- Pheu Thai making merit to mark Hq relocation

- PAD's four-point stand on reconciliation

- Chalerm to seek Thaksin's approval on campaign platforms

- Sanan as facilitator for reconciliation

- any of the above.

Be watchful and take care y'all ;)

... which also upsets other people too. This why things could pretty easily slip out of control ...

So sad that these poor girls get caught up in the insanity of the political gamesmanship.

And the guys setting the bombs probably think think they are making face doing this. They are as faceless as a brink, and as brainless.

Political gamesmanship? Jumping to conclusion as soon as the news is release? Could be the work of a jealous boyfriend/hunsand that see his girlfriend/wife appears in the police office clip.

Don't hold your breath for any of your alternate scenarios to prove true.

Jealousy usual is fixed with a gun, knife or hands,

bombs are much less the stuff of personal feuds over emotions.

Bombs are business here. Big and bad business.

. . . and not just here.

Irish terror attack a 'strong possibility'

Sorry, I know it isn't Thai related but this needs to be put in perspective.

A Thai friend and Red Shirt supporter was very surprised when I told him of the troubles in UK which went on for some 30 years, essentially a civil war in Northern Ireland. I did recommend this was not a good path to go down. Just to point out he does not advocate violence.

I thought the IRA cease to exit some 20 years ago; No?
