New Passport/Visa Where?

My last three months of non imm O visa are up the end of next month. My passport has 4 pages left and i will be getting a new passport in the next two weeks.

If I get a new passport now will the next visa (maybe a tourist visa) be put into the new passport at the consulate where i obtain the new visa?

When you get a new passport normally you go to immirgation and have the details transfered to the new passsport, while for a valid visa you use the old passport but get the entry stamp in your new passport. That would also take care of the problem of having entry and leaving stamps in different passports.

Once you obtain a replacement passport the old passport is not valid so any new stamps must be placed in the new passport. Although admit I don't know how the UK is operating with there new system of passport issue without physical cancellation of old passport. I suspect once the new passport is issued the old would not be accepted by computer check?

My new UK passport was DHL'd to the UK Embassy on Wireless Road and before I could get my hands on it the old one had to be surrendered and the corner cut off it.

With the two passports in hand I went to the border at Nong Khai and the Officer transferred my B Visa by hand into my new passport before I exited Thailand. Or you can do it at Chaeng Wattana but there is a lot more paper work to fill in there

Believe your current entry and visa information was transferred - not a visa. If you have a valid visa you would need the old passport for show to use it.

Believe the current UK new passport process is no Embassy involvement.

When I renewed my passport and went to Korat Immigration to transfer, they transferred the lot. Took up four pages of my new passport.

seemed like it took them ages to do but didnt cost anything.
