Best Area To Stay On Koh Lanta

Featured Replies

ha all, where do locals reckon the best place to stay on koh lanta is please? in terms of local shops, bars, restaurants etc. there seem to be a lot of good accommodation deals around so just want a beach where there are a couple of things to do and it's not totally quiet.

Take your pick on Long Beach.....I like the Sayang resort near the north end but you could pick anywhere.....more bars near the centre of the beach though.

Well I go there to swim most of the day and I find its way too rocky. Cheaper accom and a few decent bars on the roadside as well.

Long beach suits me better but the best beaches are further south but less bars etc.

If swimming is not a concern you will get cheaper and better accom on khlong nin for sure.

Khlong Dao Beach has a ton of inexpensive options for you.

And from there you are a short distance from Saladan town, where you have restaurants, bars etc.

Klong Nin beach rocky? Has the softest sand on the island and the fewest rocks.

Klong Nin has an atm there and some small shops, 7-11, a weekend market and some rather nice resturants in the family run resorts.

Is my favourite beach.

Klong Kong and Klong Dao are rocky, same for south end of Longbeach.

Is still pretty quiet here right now, but will probably pick up in a few weeks.

Edit:

Everywhere is totally quiet after about 9.30pm most nights at the moment, but won't stay that way for long.

Oops you're quite correct. Getting mixed up with Klong Dao.

Sorry for the confusion.

Also some confusion here saying Klong Dao is rocky. I was there last week, massive beach at sunset due to extreme low tides, and not many rocks showing at all.

During high season when the sand is in, not really rocky, o.k. maybe some at the end where Time for Lime is, but not many.......

Quiet now? Absolutely correct.
