Everett 0
I've been using a non immigrant B visa that is a multiple entry visa and I've been going to Cambodia for my visa runs. I've been wondering.. Isn't it possible to just exit Thailand but NOT enter Cambodia? What requirement makes you go INTO Cambodia? At the border after you exit Thailand there is dead space that is inbetween the Thai immigration and the Cambodia Immigration.. Why can't I simply turn back around and go back to the Thai immigration?? I don't get it. I've never done my visa run all by myself. I always go with a group.. and as a group you all have to pay for your visas to cambodia and the company you go with takes care of all of your paperwork... I've never once even stepped foot near the Cambodia immigration box because I just wait in the casino area.. but they stamp my passport and say that I actually did go into Cambodia and then leave again. (Even though I didn't.) Maybe I'm looking at this wrong but it just seems silly! Can someone explain this a bit?
lopburi3 13067
You are required to enter Thailand from another country and without an exit stamp from a land border country any attempt at entry would be considered illegal.
damian7000 6
it certainly is silly, but it makes a ton of a cash for burma and cambodia, and all the thai transportation and tourism companies doesn't it. i'm sure they all get a good laugh at us having to run around and jump through hoops too. I doubt they're laughing at anyone, it's a common situation around the world, not just Thailand. If a person doesn't want to do border runs, they should meet the qualifications and apply for an extension of stay.
