Roobar
Why is everyone so quiet today? Did anybody try poipet yesterday? Oh I did. We all left 5:30 in the morning, and came back very late with jackygolf, much later than Rainman did last weekend. Pretty much embarrassed & didn’t listen to him, shame on me. rainman
um, my thread was deleted? how, i thought it was quite a fair 'heads up' for other potential visa runners. i didn't blame jack's golf and said they used to be good, but it just doesn't work anymore under the current conditions. whatever, dont make a visa related forum if you don't want people discussing it. sorry to see you've had a horror trip. haha
er... what happened??? somebody had a bad visa run to poipet? I went last monday, and it was ok. actually faster than usual. but how fast you get through really depends on the number of people in the line. when I went last monday, the were only about 5 persons ahead of me. I took the 7am bus. because they don't have a 5:30am bus on monday. anyway, when I went, I spoke to the jackgolf guys, and they told me horror stories about saturday and sunday. that's when all the thai folks swarmed into the casinos. so, if you went on the weekends, expect the worse scenario... oh, and one last thing, ....I don't work for jackgolf. hehehe. Believe me we didn't have to do this before, in the past we didn't deal with the Thai immigration at all. You said "JG trips are as good or better than before", does it make a sense? Who is working for the competition? It really seems that some of us here do enjoy the new rule at poi pet.

Rainman, if you log in and use My Assistant and go to My last 10 posts you will actually see what you wrote despite your thread "Poipet Visa Trip Nightmare" having been deleted. At least that is what I could do. So why don't you post this again, since I remember this was a good report. drummer
This is a pic of poipet last week. I mid-week on Jacks Golf. The line wasn't quite that long, really, they hadn't opened the doors to let everyone inside yet, although there are people inside already. Waiting in line sucked, but I got back at 3:45. Not so bad. The Thailand Arrivals line was rather short. Thought sonmeone might enjoy these pics - cheers Edited August 4, 2005 by drummer

I was worriedabout missing the 7:00 bus, and I got off the bus at Phetburi MRT at 3:47 PM. No waiting at the little depot thingie anymore, though, and less time at the buffet. But thats what happened. It was still efficient, just had to actually wait in line ourselves. Immigration still had to go through all the passports and stamp them, just like now. The difference in work isn't that much higher, really just a matter of having each PP handed to the official directly by the owner. Of course, the waiting in line isn't all that much fun. In the past, the guide took all the passports into the immigration plus 100 baht per head for the hurry-up fee, and then quickly done by a few officers. This time Khun Drummer and the others queued and handed in passport one by one without tea money at all, make it in & out just as quick as the old days. I did a Jack's Golf run today - had me back at the MRT by 4:30pm. As Drummer suggested, the key change is that we do the queing ourselves but otherwise it was an uneventful day. drummer
Dude ... look at my profile ... I've been a member for a while. I don't work for JG. I cartainly don't like being called a liar. I really did get of the bus 3:47 PM on a Wed. I remember specifically because I was going to meet a friend and I called him. I really did leave a little after 7PM. The lines were long but they moved fairly quickly. Unlike in the past, my overstay was taken care of very quickly. Before the change, I once waited in the arrival office for 45 minutes for the 1 officer to process everyone with overstays. JG always waited for overstay folks. This was no exception, except the overstays (After a missing passport - if you like you can search for a thread I started about it) , including me, were taken care of at the same speed of the line. Just not a big time loss. The total time spent in line was 1 hour, and traffic wasn't bad. Take it or leave it, but this really isn't a JG's ad. I'll tell you what... I have pictures I took from various parts of the day. If you are really interested, I can email them to you, and you can look at the time stamp on them. Looks like a pic I took just ter the bus left is Wednesday, July 27, 2005, 12:38:22 PM
