Entering Thailand < 6 Month On Passport Expiration

Recommended Posts

I understand that you are required to have 6 months of validity left on your passport to receive a visa or visa exempt entry, but I am wondering if I can enter Thailand with a passport expiring in 5 months with a Valid Tourist Visa (issued by LA) before when there weren't 6 months remaining on my passport.

I would be entering and leaving on land borders, so no issues with airlines not allowing me to board.

Does anyone know if it's similar for Vietnam? If I get an VN visa issued 6 months before my visa expires, will VN and/or the airlines allow me to fly enter. I have a trip scheduled in January, but my passport expires in May 2011. Thanks.
